I clean my new toys thoroughly when they first arrive, and then I clean them after each use. I don't normally feel the need to clean them before each use, because I feel like my storage system keeps them pretty clean in between uses (each toy has its own individual pouch or baggie, and is stored in a box that keeps them free from dust, lint, and hair) so cleaning them again right before using them seems a little unnecessary. I have a few toys that are INCREDIBLE lint and hair magnets, and I have a cat who sheds like crazy, so if I notice a toy has cat hair or other crap stuck to it (sometimes they seem to pick up crap the moment I remove them from the bag), I'll wipe it down with a wet wipe immediately before use, but I usually only do a full sink wash with soap and/or toy cleaner after use....unless I accidentally drop it on the ground or something, but I've only done that a couple times so far, haha.
Though sometimes I don't clean them immediately after using them. I typically like to masturbate right around bedtime, so sometimes I just don't have the energy or motivation to take them to the bathroom and wash them right after using them. In those times, I'll just wipe off any lube and body fluids with a wet wipe and wrap them in a towel, and then clean them more thoroughly (and charge them) the next day.
