I have to agree with you, Ke, and Michele on this one. I think that being comfortable with my own sexual choices does empower me as a woman, knowing that I don't have to be ashamed of the things I do (or don't) like.

So for whoever has read Girl On Top; do you think it's a book that couples would enjoy reading together?

Alright, I'm back for the remainder. I didn't read the books this time around though - my 'to read' list is so long right now!

You know, I think that couples where both partners have an interest in erotica would read most books together. Especially any sexually forward thinking couple that doesn't limit themselves to what sexual roles once were...I haven't read this one yet, but I was surprised recently how much my boyfriend was enjoying "Please Ma'am" when I left it out on the nightstand. So another book that features women in a position of control or power wouldn't surprise me as a shared interest.

Good point. Alan does favor dominant women, so in hindsight I suppose I didn't even need to ask that. My mind is on vacation tonight (lol)

LOL, I understand. But it might not be that way for all couples. Just because it works that way for us, maybe those with a male/female D/s lifestyle might not favor it as much?

I think the girl on top could ask for her partner to read to her!

I agree with Tori. Many of the stories in Girls On Top are told from the first-person ("I") perspective, so a woman reading to her partner would work best. (Though I do recall at least one story, "Erica's John," that is told from a submissive male point of view.) If you like dominant females (not necessarily as "dommes" but just taking control of the sexual scenario), then you will enjoyed Girls On Top.

I love that kind of confidence. Completely outside of D/s, dominant, powerful women are hawt.

True. I don't know much about the guy's angle, but I've met female subs who would be turned off by stories that feature women who aren't totally submissive. It's pretty cool how everyone has their own thing.

Girls on Top is definitely a great read with that ideal in mind!
I was blown away when I first picked it up. It completely exceeded my expectations.

The women are definitely take charge in this book. A stand out story would have to be the one with the Jehovah's Witnesses. The female character in this story certainly dominated the men. I felt kind of bad reading it given my upbringing but I loved it too much to worry about the religious references in it. I think thats what made it an even hotter story. I'd recommend it for anyone.

Pretty good. I was actually in the middle of a movie where a woman tapes her cheating, ready to divorce her husband to a toilet seat and tries to make him remember why he loved her and do so again. It was hilarious, but I've postponed finishing it to be here tonight.

That would definitely appeal to me....this one's already on my list and if I remember correctly amazon should be delivering it next week, but I'm looking forward to that one now!

I thought that story was brilliant!! She stuck it to the Jehovah's Witnesses, & got some in the process! That was seriously one of my favorite stories in the entire book. I really loved the voice and all the silly little play on words.

I'll never look at them the same when they ring my doorbell again lol. I love it when I read something and it makes me wish I thought of it. My only regret is that I wanted it to continue for a few more pages.

Dang straight! I've actually read & reviewed both of the books we're discussing tonight, and I loved both of them.
Great titles by the talented Violet Blue.

That happens to me a lot! There have been a couple of anthology stories lately that I wold have love to become longer stories or even their own books.

Yea the play on words is what made it so hot. I was smiling when it was over then I read it again just because I loved it so much. They weren't as holy as they tried to make themselves appear to be that's for sure.

Oh jeez, too many favorites to count!

Central Registry & The HOstage were by far the two best stories in the book, in my honest opinion.

I also really adored High-Speed Wireless, Metamorphosis, New York Peep Show, The Morning Trade, and The Woman in His Room.

Metamorphosis really stood out to me as the most relate-able story of them all. It was very down to earth and realistic to everyday life. You have the absent, uninterested husband, an annoying, prying mother, and the trademark repressed wife. It was a really believable story about the daily grind, and first times.

That's "Central Registry" by the ultra-talented author Remittance Girl! Great story for anyone who has ever been annoyed by unwanted visitors.

I feel like a junkie when I get to the last page and there's nothing left to read but then I just have to play out in my head how I think it would go once it's officially over.

True, and I suppose if I'm honest with myself, that's one of the appeals of short erotica, is that it lend itself to my own fantasies because it can always go a little further.
