I think I'd want to check out a website that allows for submission of really short erotic stories just to try my hand at it? Something like Flash Fiction or something less than 500 words. (My erotica, which I've had published, but it's in a specific fetish magazine, usually hits around 2,000 words. x.x)
Any recommendations for a website like that? And what is the usual word-cap limit on erotica?

I absolutely agree. And editing definitely makes you a better writer!

I'm just now reading submission for my second anthology, Dream Lover, and so far it's just pure pleasure. I imagine after another dozen or so anthologies (should I be so lucky to continue editing!), I might feel differently, but I find that I enjoy the process of reading and selecting stories. Being an editor is completely different than being a writer, and i think the two provide a nice creative balance for me.
Lori and Cole, do you feel the same? less

There are exceptions (Alison Tyler has edited 2 collections of shorter stories, Frenzy and Got a Minute? and Rachel Kramber Bussel has a collection of quickies coming out-- I believe the title is the Big Book of Quickies).
Hope that helps!

That's awesome. What do the classes cost if you don't mind me asking? I am interested. I just recently took an online college class with Troy Universtiy, currenlty attending, for writting and it was a great experience. I learned so much and my writting became much better in the short 9 weeks of the course. I aced the class

As far as word limit, it varies but most erotica anthologies are looking for stories in the 1500-5000 word range. There are exceptions (Alison Tyler has edited 2 collections of shorter stories, Frenzy and Got a Minute? and Rachel Kramber Bussel has a collection of quickies coming out-- I believe the title is the Big Book of Quickies).

Just wanted to say that we have a Naked Reader feature coming up that talks about how to get started writing Erotica... and we've spoken to some of Cleis' best and brightest for their advice.
