I definitely prefer the realistic. It think I just like something I can imagine actually happening in my life or to someone I know.

As opposed to "16 naked ladies hopped out of your trunk and started pleasuring you"? lol

I agree. I love to physically feel and smell a book. It has.. substance.

I'm curious, too. The sales of Fairy Tale Lust in Kindle version seem to be doing slightly better than the print version, if the top 100 short fiction collection rankings on Amazon can be trusted. I wonder if erotica makes for good e-reading because you don't have to worry about turning the pages?

Yes. As opposed to that. That doesn't even make sense. Makes me think of a clown car though

LOL... this reminds me of a story I have in a forthcoming collection. It's one woman and four men in the back of a limo...

If I had to guess, some people might prefer the electronic copy 'cause it's something that's extremely discreet, is easily hid from company, and the kids can't find it.

If I happened upon a digital copy of a book and really enjoyed it, then I would actively seek out a physical copy. If it wasn't all that memorable to me, I'd rather have it only take up digital space than physical space.

That would be my biggest lure to digital erotica

I love it taking up physical space as long as it's still tasteful. Same with my porn. As long as I'm not keeping "Black Ass Domination 2", I'll keep other ones like "Bound" or things that I just wasn't amazing fond of. Have of the fun of buying things for me is to expand my collection. Only with books, DVDs, and sex toys. I think I've fallen for American consumerism.

I just can't justify making the physical space for it if I don't know for sure when buying it that I'll really enjoy having it. But that goes along with what you're saying, so long as it's tasteful I don't always mind keeping it.

I just woke up from a nap so I'm totally behind on everything and this is my first Naked Reader Booke Club discussion. Am I too late?

LOL, I'm the same way. My DVDs (things like Bound, The Wicked, Fallen, Eden, etc.) are pretty well visible, as are my toys because the fronts of the drawers are clear. I also have more instructional sex books than I'll ever know what to do with, so they're more or less on display. I figure if someone is in my home, chances are they know me well enough to know I'm liberal and very sexual anyway.

Since I started reviewing sex toys in December, we've had to buy another full-size bookshelf for all of the new stuff. At this point, we still have room for more stuff (a two-bedroom apartment for just Jor and I), but if we ever started to get low on room, I think I'd probably stop collecting so much.

I like things. If I see something that catches my fancy, I'll buy it just to have it. I own some toys that I'm not in love with, some books I've long since got over, but I just can't let them go. Physical possessions are my weakness. I like to own things. I like to hold them in my hand and know that they belong to me. It's an obsession. I'm sure most of America relates.

Yeah. Ours too. Our porn shelf is right next to the living room TV and our "regular" DVDs. Along with that is a bookshelf in the living room with all of my sex toys sitting that haven't been reviewed yet, so I can keep them straight. The bedroom has another half-bookshelf full of my adult books. As you can imagine, it's a pain in the ass to hide all of this when our families come to visit.

Yeah. I relate too. I try not to do it too much though. It's mostly just with books and DVDs. I luckily have avoided having that problem with clothing.

I still live with my dad at the moment so I have to be creative with hiding everything, so if you happen to be in my room and move a stretgically placed shirt from the floor, you might find a dildo underneath

I started the last day of December, with some stuff we already had, and since then we've had to add a dresser, and once that dresser gets full, well, we'll have to stop collecting until we can move outta my mom's place, lol

I don't even try to hide it anymore. I figure if they take that big of an issue to an adult female that lives alone having her possessions out in the open then...well, then just let them sit there and be all miffed, doesn't bother me

I just can't give it up if I think I might ever use it again. It's taken me forever to go through my closet and start getting rid of stuff I haven't worn since high school, lol

I just keep mine hidden so that my family who might come into our bedroom doesn't have to see it. They know what we do, but that doesn't mean we have to leave it out in the open for them. However if we lived alone, we'd probably be just like you

Jor's parents aren't so open-minded. I know they'd mind. They didn't like finding condoms in his room. My parents...well, they wouldn't mind about the content itself, but she'd have a fit and stalk my blog if she found out. She's always saying that writing "adult stuff online" just makes you a creepy person. I'd rather avoid the tirade.
