Usually I use semen when talking about it in conversation. Cum is good to use in private because, hey, you've got an easy-to-remember noun that can also be a verb!

Sperm. Sometimes semen, if I'm talking about the liquid itself (since sperm are just the swimmy things). I tend to use the actual names that things have.

sperm is only one component of a man's ejaculate aka semen. in men who've been snipped, there is no sperm in the semen. my favorite word for sperm is sperm and my favorite word for semen is cum.
