I guess I like to live on the edge.
I read what the bottle said and chose to ignore it and am pleased with the results. Others (yourself included) may not feel comfortable doing so.

Yes, one of the head is an electric shaver, but you also get a trimmer that you can adjust and an epilator. It's practical, I use the epilator to do my arm pits.

This seems like the newer version of my bikini trimmer at ... more
Do you think this would be ok to do the *ahem* under-carriage?

Oh I would shave everything with it. I would normally shave between the butt cheeks by squatting in the bath tub before taking a shower. I had some minor issues with precision with my model, but the heads of the new model were modified and would be more effective in that area than the one I was using.

I wax almost my entire body. lol. With time you have to get it done a lot less. I just like the way my skin feels without hair. It is expensive, but it is really worth it.

I depilate my bikini area, however, the stuff I use smells even worse than Nair! But it takes everything off painlessly. I'd recommend it to you, but my hair is very coarse (everywhere) and dark. And there's the smell issue so yeah..

So I bought an epilator yesterday. Hopefully this week I'll have the time to use it. I wanted to shop around more, but I wanted to use it for next weekend when I see my boyfriend and CVS had an Emjoi one (which I've read about online), so I figured why not. I also picked up some first aid numbing spray and a bottle of wine to use beforehand.

If you're going to wax I'd recommend buying your own. Going to a salon can get pricey. The most popular kinds are Parissa, Surgi-Wax and GiGi.

Hey!

You'll have to report back about the epilator.

I personally can't STAND having hair anywhere on my body, but I especially hate pubic hair. Normally I just shave, but I swear I have stubble by the next morning (not to mention those annoying bumps)! It's terrible. I've considered getting waxed, but I'm hesitant. I used to get my eyebrows waxed, but I'd break out in a nasty rash every time. Same thing happened when I got my eyebrows threaded. I get rashes from almost all (including hypoallergenic) hair removal cremes as well. Apparently I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin, so I'm terrified of trying waxing/hair removal products down under.

I haven't found any anti razor burn products that seem to work for me either. If anyone has suggestions, that would be great!

Interesting topic. I my experiences with at home products like Nair and waxing are not very positive at all. For one, it misses most of the hair and/or only takes care of the peach fuzz which I don't mind but the more coarse hairs remain. Of course, pubic hair tends to be the coarse type so maybe I need to spend more money or time on it but I'd rather just pay. d=

Andromeda - a few people out there like Coochey Cream. I've used it and like it - but I use hair conditioner for everything now. I don't even need aftershave for my face. When I shave with conditioner my skin is always very smooth after wards. It doesn't cost anything to try shaving with your hair conditioner - let us know if it works for you - or not...

I use the Gigi brazilian hard wax with the warmer. You also need baby powder or pre-epilating oil, spatulas and wax residue remover. Clean collars are nice to keep the warmer clean, but not essential like the other items. It's an investment up front, but for less than the price of two professional Hollywood or Full Brazilian wax, you can have all of it shipped to your door with enough wax to last several sessions. Amazon offers most of it as a kit, and it works really well. You will break out in a cold sweat because there's no getting around the fact that ripping your pubes out by the root hurts a bit (or quite a bit), but the smoothness is so worth it. I was absolutely fascinated and my husband flipped. It was like discovering some kind of buried treasure, lol.

Using conditioner helps A LOT, but still some bump-age. Definitely an improvement though, thanks!

I wax at home...but I have to say that it involved LOTS of practice before I got good enough to do a respectable job. I would recommend buying a wax warmer (looks for sales at Amazon or Sally Beauty) the microwave stuff just doesn't cut it. Put down an old sheet or something to avoid getting the wax all over your bathroom. Also, I promise you that it hurts less and less each time!!
