Yes they are horrid!!!! I don't know which is worse the burning or the itching. I have had two and I hope I never get another one.
Have you ever had a yeast infecton?

If you usually get a yeast infection the week after your period... try changing your brand of tampons and pads. A lot of the time that is the cause.
Ohhh... the first one I had was when I moved to Hubei. Hot and humid ALL the time. It was like walking through water and it wasn't even raining. You just walk out of your lovely air conditioned home, and you were drenched like you just wore your clothes through the shower. You sweat so badly between your thighs, your groin and your armpits... even where the curves of your breasts touch your skin. Then the chaffing sets in in all those places.
You, all this sweat causes so much problems when you cannot get home to change your clothes to put on something dry and go back to work, and the number of showers you take to try to cool off and to feel clean.
Yeast infections are not that bad. BUT mix in yeast infection with chaffing so badly that you get blisters, which turned into abscesses with the yeast infection then you get jock itch.

I used to get them a lot when I was little. But thankfully I haven't had one in years. I remember how bad they used to be!

It's pretty common among women and not something that is pleasant but a part of life sometimes like getting a cold or the flu.
03/26/2011
I've never had one. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
03/26/2011
Never had one. *Knocks on wood so hard she bruises her hand*
03/27/2011
Never had it, I truly believe in drinking Cranberry juice to prevent yeast infections.

Yea one time

I just had my first one about a month ago. I was freaking out because I didn't know what it was and thought I had gotten an STD or something. fortunately I went to my ob/gyn and they gave me some medication and the yeast infection went away pretty quickly.
I hope I don't get another one anytime soon.

Only twice thank God! One was during a pregnancy and the other was only a month ago! Here's the good thing, when you're not able to get meds for it you can mix a tble spoon of tea tree oil, sea salt or reg. salt, peroxide and use it like a douche. It will totally get rid of it immediately! Mine was gone after the first day! I used the mixtured twice. Also, you can slip a garlic clove inside and totally get rid of it! Much cheaper than the drugstore crap.
I was so thankful to have that mixture work because I was totally broke and it came in the middle of the night! I wasn't getting paid for another 2 weeks! I was desperate and used the mixture and now I'll always use that!
There are actually several things that work. Garlic is yeast's enemy and will work faster than anything. I posted the directions for this on my blog last month. lol
Also, never EVER put anything with sugar down there. Like chocolate syrup because sugar feeds yeast!

I had the worst yeast infection once I got pregnant, the hormonal shift caused a raging yeast infection and only diflucan would get rid of it.

cranberry is a preventative for UTI's, not yeast. The sugars in the juice could cause a yeast infection if you are sensitive

I almost always get one when I am placed on whatever antibiotic they give me for strep throat. I get strep easily, just how my body works, at -least- once every three years. I can never remember which antibiotic they put me on, so it's always the same one, and I always get a yeast infection. Since I'm on Medicaid, it's like, either pay for my own antibiotics, or pay for the Monistat later, cuz it's -gonna- happen. Not cool.
*I believe it's amoxicillin. Blargh. less

I am really unsure about this one. I think I might have but I didnt really go and find out.

They suck!
07/27/2011
the most uncomfortable thing ever!

I used to get them every time I had to take antibiotics, which was fairly frequently because I'm susceptible to sinus infections. Thank the gods for miconazole.

I was a chronic bed wetter as a kid, so either constantly yeast infections or UTIs (I can't remember--I've blocked those years ) I haven't had one as an adult, but I did have a UTI this past January. Holy bleepity bleepiness, never again! My long-distance boyfriend was visiting for the first time in over a month, and I forget how much straight cranberry juice (not the sweetened yummy kind) I chugged that weekend to kill the pain before seeing a doctor.

nah

I get them every time I take antibiotics or use certain soaps. They drive me insane but I found probiotics really helps out with avoiding them.
