Never have. I just wear what fits. Though maybe I should get them sized since I go through bras pretty damn quick.... (They get stretched out way too fast.)
Ever Had Your Boobs Sized?
09/13/2010
It is a good idea to be sized regularly. Just like anything, breast size can change from year to year (if you are losing weight, it can even be month to month).
I worked in lingerie once upon a time; sizing itself should be universal. The particulars of a cut, patting, types of materials, etc., will impact how it wears and your comfort, but size itself is based on numbers. You can even measure yourself if you have a measuring tape handy.

I have had them sized but I prefer to wear what's comfortable to me b/c different brands of bras fit differently. I have found my favorite kind of bras after looking for so many years...now it's time to conquer the jeans and I'll have it made!

Bra fitting was part of my job description, working the lingerie section of a department store. You need to get yourself measured at least yearly, and ideally twice a year or if you have any significant changes to your body. Women's bodies are constantly changing with our hormones, pregnancies, menopause, weight fluctuations, etc.
I think the statistic is that 8/10 women are wearing the wrong size bra. Sometimes it's a numbers thing, like vanity sizing, and sometimes it's just not knowing. Most of the time they are wearing a band size that's too large and a cup size that's too small. The band size is very important, even more so than the cup. The majority of your support should come from the band. When I lost some weight recently and my bras weren't fitting right I knew it, tried on the next band size down and didn't even have my shoulder straps all the way on and could tell how much more support I was getting. The band spreads out the weight of your breasts across your back and improves your posture, instead of adding that weight to your shoulders and causing you pain/slumping.
Also, sometimes it's not a matter of being sized wrong, but wearing the wrong style of bra. All of our bodies are different. The positioning and shape of your breasts matters when you pick between brands and styles. Some women can't do underwires because of the shape of their rib cages or because they have more breast tissue on the sides of their torso. It can be time consuming, but if you set aside some time on a day off and go get sized and then try on a bunch of different bras in that size (and even up and down, sizing isn't 100% accurate. It's a tool to help guide you closer to the right size) it will be worth it. Having your boobs supported will improve your posture, and your confidence.

I had two lumps removed from my right breast so now I'm to embarrassed to get it done...Besides I don't think they would make a bar to fit me right now one is so much smaller than the other one....
09/17/2010
I know most places offer the service, but I usually neglect to ask and just keep trying sizes. However, during my latest trip to VS, it was slow so I asked the sales associate, and I'm glad I did. Manufacturer's differ too, so the best thing is to try a few sizes within your range, but at least being sized helps you get the right number for chest measurements, cups can be another thing altogether.

Also, you would buy a cup size that fits the larger breast. Then, if you wanted them, there are inserts you can use to fill the rest of the smaller cup up. You can even have them sewn into the bras and lined so that it's less of a hassle to deal with.

Thank you...thank you! You have given me the courage to get fitted. Last time I tried, the area was populated by ladies with very ample sized boobs. In fact, one customer remarked to me, "what's your problem honey". I left as I am 34B...I think.

I do go to VS and just try bras on but never asked for a fitting at VS, they are more to my taste then Macy's anyway. I wear sports bras for working at home and working out.
Bras and lingerie are difficult for me. I am 5'7" ,119lbs, have a long torso and an athletic build. One piece lingerie items...ouch!!
09/17/2010
I have always worn the same brand and size of bra for... years. I don't even know how long. But I haven't really gained/lost weight in that time enough for me to change my cup size from the whopping 34A that I am. I've never been sized, but I *know* that I am not a B. I have never worn a B that actually fits.
09/17/2010
I've gotten it done at VS, and the lady there kindly informed me that I was a 34C, although all their C cups were too small on me, and the B cups everywhere else seem to fit just fine. The only time my boobs look like they're C cups is when I get the really nice B cup bra with the push ups, lol

I have measured myself at home to figure out my size. I was wearing the right size mostly. Unless the bra was made small like at La Senza
09/17/2010
I worked at VS for a short while, we got a whole 20 min training on how to measure for bras....
Their job is to fit you into one of their bras... if you dont fit their sizes they will tell you that you do so that they can make a sale.
On another note...
Ive been fitted at a lingerie shop. Not a department store, a small lingerie boutique that carries hard to fit sizes. They advertised that they can fit anyone... I went just to stump them.
They spent 30 minutes measuring me.. and in the end, they measured me and as I guessed, I was smaller than they could offer..
but I did learn that I had been wearing the wrong size, and that I would probably not be able to find my actual size.
****
Every woman should get fitted. It makes all the difference in the world when a bra fits correctly.

I have. But I swear they did it wrong or something. Because I'd try on the size they suggest and then half my nipples are exposed. Yeah...needless to say I just buy what I find comfortable and fits.

Finding bras is impossible for me. I have a little rib cage and huge boobs. I’m a 32DDD in some companies and a 32F in others.
Victoria Secret is ridiculous and they have no idea how to size people. I usually just get angry when I go there.

I've been sized, the lady who did it at a local shop didn't measure me she just basically asked me to flash her. She gave me a rough number 32b(I had thought I was a 32a) but also told me the sizing differences of all the brands and styles her store carried. I was actually a 32c in one style!
She showed me how my boobs kinda fall to the side a little and I have to lift them and tuck them into the cups and there's more boobie then it initially appears.
It's a pretty cool shop. I also like to play with the display sex toys upstairs and see what they're like in person

I was sized last year, and a few years back - but the thing is, the brand matters most to me. Some bras are made poorly or fit strangely despite being the right size. I have become loyal to a brand and a particular model by that brand. It fits the very vest. But that find took trial and error in lots of dressing rooms.

I had mine sized once and I got a lesson fro mthe lady in store on how a bra should properly fit and be properly worn.
I got sized a few years later when I got a bathing suit in a european store where the sizing is different. The lady felt me up rather than using a measuring tape, it was so funny to me that she just grabbed my boobs and said tada your size "x"

I only just got measured and found out i was bigger than i thought i was.
I hate it how they dont sell good quality push up bras for girls with larger breats.
I got measured as an E while i've typically worn a D to DD. Although have noticed lately that i have grown out of my D bras especially
I wish they were a bit smaller so i could have a bigger selection of sexy bras and bikini. Not many companies make sexy lingerie for breasts my size

I haven't since before I had my son. I was a 34C at that time, which is what I still buy. However, my poor boob got slightly smaller after him. That isn't a horrible thing, they also got perkier after shrinking and weight loss.
10/07/2010
Both. I wear what fits and creates the best shape/cleavage regardless of size and I also wear my fitted size too. I have bras ranging from 36 C to 34 DD. It depends on the type of bra.
I thought I was a 38 C, turns out I'm a 34 D. No wonder I was always pulling them down in the back and adjusting lol.
My roommate thought she was a 38 DDD but turns out she is a 42 G...

Nope haven't had them sized. I probably should on my next trip to the mall.

I got sized and was gave the wrong size. The bra I tried on I could have put another set of boobs in it. Now I just try on different ones
10/13/2010
I voted yes, but it was done at a VS and they told me I was a B, almost a C. I'm actually more like a high A...plus the bra I bought at the time stopped fitting almost immediately and proceeded to fall apart. I'm never buying VS again
10/20/2010
I've had had my boobs sized a few times at Victoria Secret lol (=
10/24/2010
yea a long time ago tho...im deff bigger now
10/24/2010
I hadn't gotten mine sized in years, and I'd had massive weight gain and loss... So I decided one day to check with the lovely ladies at Victoria's Secret. I was kinda shocked, since I'd always just thought of myself as flat chested no matter what. I walked out two cup sizes bigger. They said I could even go up one more from that, but I thought that was a little ridiculous. I am definitely not a D-cup.. I think I forget that height and frame affect the size of a bra, so a girl with 36C breasts who's 5'2" and with slender hips will look way different than me, at 5'10" and more of an hourglass in the hip area.
10/25/2010
I have had my breasts sized before. At Victora's Secret they told me I was an E, which I could not believe, too big. But then, I went to Lane Bryant's, and they were right, a DD. I trust them.
