If you use contraception, what kind? Why did you choose it? Do you like it?

I can't use hormonal birth control so the withdrawal method is what I depend on. It's okay but nerve wrecking sometimes.

Use the pill and condoms! Would love to get an IUD once my insurance kicks in!

I'm fine with taking a pill everyday. I like that it keep me on a nice regular schedule and I have short, light periods.

Condoms for now.

The pill. im really bad at taking it at the same time everyday but i do make sure that i take it

the pill...I just put in my pill caddy so it is easy to remember to take it. It works good for contraception and has helped regulate my cycle. Wish it helped make it shorter (mine lasts about a week) but all in all it works

Condoms...Don't love it, but necessary.

the pill

I had a Mirena IUD up until June, I'd been using Mirena for about 8 years, but my husband and I have decided we'd like to have a baby. I liked it a lot because I didn't have to think about birth control, and I didn't have periods. Insertion sucked, and the first swap out was painful, but I didn't feel a thing when I had it removed.

I chose the pill because the particular one I'm on is only $9 a month. Very cheap!

I've been using natural family planning for a number of months now. I was on the Pill, but switched to the Patch. Both of them raged my hormones, so I stopped taking everything all together to let my body detox. Now, I talked to my Dr about getting Implanon. My appointment isn't until next month though.

We stopped using contraception when we decided to have a baby.

I'm currently on the Depo shot, and I love it!
A nurse gives me an injection once every three months, and I'm covered! I don't have to worry about taking a pill every day or putting on a patch or a ring, I'm just good to go.
I tend to be a little bit paranoid though, so my fiance and I still use condoms. Between the two methods I'm practically 100% covered.

Nexplanon implant. I just had my first baby (unplanned) and wanted something effective that would last a long time and that I didn't have to think too much about. I love the convenience of it.

We use withdrawal, and have only had a few accidents in many many years of using it. (Mainly the "accidents" happened because he thought he was in the back door and he was somewhere else. You'd think he could tell?)
We tried Natural Family Planning and I got pregnant virtually every time I was supposed to be in my "Safe Zone." I honestly think those Couple to Couple League people do this on purpose (give you a BC method that doesn't work) because they have an anti-birth control agenda. Luckily, we were in a stage of our relationship where we wanted children.
I've used the Pill, it eventually made me too sick. I have used a diaphragm, but not only had surgery on my urogenital tract, which made using a diaphragm impossible, but developed an allergy to latex. Condoms were always difficult for us, finding non-latex condoms in large sizes is virtually impossible. In college I volunteered for a study which tested a new type of cervical cap that was supposed to have a one way valve on it, but it didn't work, fell off frequently and I dropped out of the study, as did virtually everyone else who volunteered.
Withdrawal works well for us, is sanctioned by Planned Parenthood (in certain types of relationships, and ours fits these) and costs nothing.

I guess I could also say that I now use a saliva ferning kit. It's fascinating to see what your magnified spit looks like at different points of your cycle when it's dry! When you see "ferns" in your dried spit, you are apparently fertile. This has been the only birth control a friend of mine has used for over a decade and it's served her well all along.

The pill...

Ive been using the pill for about 5 years and i only messed it up once and got pregnant... after my pregnancy i tried the IUD mirena and I had them take it out after about 2 months.. It was so painful and uncomfortable during sex... Ill take my chances with remembering to take my pill...

I take the pill. I started it because my period would not stop, I continue to take it because if I stop I gain weight and have no periods... Oh poly cystic Ovarian syndrome how I despise you!

then i tried the shot, but it made me have zero sex drive.
i considered the iud, but no one in my area is experienced in my opinion to place it properly.
it is difficult to find condoms that fit my fiance due to his (large) size.
while we are avoiding pregnancy, but would be extremely happy if it were to occur, we have mostly relied upon the withdrawl method.

I was on the pill and still had two of my kids but now I am tied

I've been on 3 dfferent types of pills.
The first ones were a combined pill called Norinyl. They contained 30mg(not sure what the measurement was) of estrogen. They worked perfectly for 5-6 years... but, my blood pressure was climbing.
Then they changed my pills to a mini pill (contains no estrogen! Doesn't prevent ovulation!) called Micronor. I took them less than a year and they failed! I definitely wouldn't recommend these for long term. If you do use them use them with a condom or have sex during the first 12 hours of taking them. It's absolutely crucial to take them on time every day, which I did by the way... They failed and I have no clue why. They suck! -stomps on them-
The pills I'm on now are a low dose combined pill called Aviane. They have 20mg of estrogen and are supposed to be just as effective as higher doses. I've been on them about 2 1/2 months and so far they're working great. Only time will tell. -sigh-
I've serously considered getting Mirena but I'm scared of it. =[

Never been on the pill. Always scared to mess with hormone levels--- don't want higher estrogen.
Have only ever used condoms. Would consider having a hysto, but so far aren't super compelled to. It's not like a major goal of mine; I have bigger goals

I tried like every birth control after my first son but no luck so quit and then after my second son I had the Paragard (copper iud) placed and my body was reacting from the copper cause ovarian cysts to rupture bad so I recently (life a day) got it taken out and waiting for my script for the pill to be filled (won't be till monday). So fingers crossed that it works good for me this time.
