Never happened to us, but it kind of sounds like it could be a result of a sleeping disorder? I'm no expert of course, but I would probably look into it. Maybe it's some type of sleep walking like thing? My mother and sister and a few other fam members sleep walk. I never knew how serious it could be until I realized they done it. It can be quite embarassing too! All of our fam do weird sleep stuff. I very frequently am woke up by my partner or sister while crying or screaming in my sleep. I think that stems more from a traumatic incident I've dealt with for the past 5 years though because it only started after the incident. I know it can be really dangerous for sleep walkers to be woken up or jarred awake. You're supposed to gently and quietly guide them back to bed. He might have some sort of sleeping problem like that. It happens. My partner is always on the defense and he's swung his arms at me when I wake him up by accident. He's punched my leg before, but now that I know he's a freak asleep lol I am careful. He's not violent, but for some reason he gets so startled when woken up and starts slinging fists before he opens his freakin eyes. It can be scary, but I know he always realizes it's me before he goes crazy and attacks. Lol. Has your partner been through anything, maybe military stuff? My sister's partner was in the war and he can get a tiny dangerous in his sleep. But he also does things like you mentioned, just nothing as intense, usually light groping.
I wish I had advice for you, but I've really never experienced that. Mine sometimes holds his arms around me or puts his hand between my legs, but not groping me. Maybe he just is trying to seek affection while he's sleeping and doesn't realize it. Just an idea I guess?
