I actually wrote about all my thoughts on that here: link .

All links come back to EF, so that is cool enough.

I started with a bullet actually.

Yup if you mainly like clitoral stimulation a bullet is a good place to start. My wife has this one. It's probably here favorite one and it's pretty cheap to boot.

I tend to recommend traditional multispeed slimlines to start. They're incredibly versatile yet not at all threatening.

Yes, very true. They work well for clitoral stimulation, and then have the option of being inserted as/when the user wants to.

My first was a rabbit, and I loved it.

Well, I write to you as a "beginner" in the sex-toy-arena myself...

I had never owned ANY TYPE of a dildo/vibrator/sex-toy before...

THEN...I went to an "Adult Toy Party", and ordered my verrry first "toy"!!!!! YAHHAYYY MEEE!!! It was a "Wet Wabbit"...A "rabbit type" vibrator (dual stimulation; clitoral and vaginal).

When I finally tried it out..OMFG!!!! I CAME SO FAST. I think I made history within my personal guidelines!!

So...it goes w/o saying; if you are new to this area (which, even tho I have bought a "few" toys within the past two months, I too, am NEW!), I say, you CANNOT go wrong with a "Rabbit" type vibe...It doesn't really matter WHAT the "animal" is on the vibe..JUST. GET. ONE. Vaginal + Clitoral stimulation = XTACY!!!!

You will NOT regret it. That I promise you. There are SO many to choose from. Maybe for your first pick, get something simple. Sure, it's both tempting, and enticing to purchase a multi-function/mulit-c ontrol vibe that rotates (dual ways), vibrates, makes the bed in the morning, AND brings you coffee...BUT..at this important juncture in your sex-toy life, just get one you know you can operate simply, and will give you pleasure.

Soon enough my lady, will you be able to purchase (and operate) multi-function vibes..But now, RIGHT NOW...I will give you this bit of advice (which I am repeating for a purpose)..get something simple..Like, for instance, my Wet Wabbit. Remember...you can/and probably WILL always upgrade!!!

my first vibes was a laya spot from fun factory...

i'd guess you need to know first what you like and what gets you: clitoral or vaginal or both... and then get something pretty simple and not too expansive to get you started and to explore...

be careful... sex toys are addictive

I recommend starting out with a traditional vibe or a bullet, something inexpensive so you can decide whether or not you enjoy vibrations before shelling out a ton of money on a nicer vibe.

I'd recommend a traditional, multispeed vibe. You probably want to feel out what you like, what intensity you like best to begin with and a multispeed vibrator will give you that.

Good luck and have fun!

Traditional or bullet. This way you'll find out what you like (or don't like) at a rather inexpensive cost to you.

This would make an amazing first vibe IMO. It is more g spot oriented, but it is flexible and gentle enough for a beginner. Plus it is powerful and the head also makes for an excellent clit vibe.

I'd say something like the Iconic Smoothie, Laya Spot, or a bullet of some kind.

I'd say a slim vibe that can be used as an insertable but also works well on your clit. That way you can get a feel for what you like. Something with veritable levels is a plus to see your sensitivity level.

If you already know you like both duel vaginal and clit stim then go for the rabbit but if your just exploring things keep it simple.

I bought a few different toys as my first purchase, and I'm glad I did!

I would say a bullet and a small dildo, like Tantus Compact, Charmer,Niagara or Vixskin Raquel.

One thing that I will always recommend to a beginner is buy SILICONE.

Something simple, silicone, and versatile, so you can explore your personal tastes. Fun Factory has plenty of options in a reasonable price level. I'd also recommend paying attention to features like noise level, because you don't want to be distracted from your fun by worrying about whether anyone can hear the buzz.

what about the hitachi magic wand? Is that good for a beginner? I want to apply it to a dildo or clitoris. Thinking about surprising my wife...

to start out, I suggest thinking about how you masturbate. You could try getting a toy that fits in with your usual routine. This way it's something more familiar. Once you're comfortable and ready to try ANYTHING. Then you can get all the bells and whistles and fun vibes we all love!

Good idea. My first was a small nice one called the Classix G. Still love that baby.

Its easy to find a cheap traditional vibe that will help you learn what power level you need and then you can move on from there. Rabbit vibes tend to be more complex and harder to fit with ones anatomoy.

I would recommend the Liv by LELO! I heart it forever!

Yes, I, too, heartily recommend the LELO Liv to beginners because it will last them for several years and will still be pleasurable to them when they become more "advanced" users. It is small in size with excellent vibrations -- plus, it is very high quality (with a one year warranty and a ten year guarantee) and it is rechargeable. I just cannot recommend it enough.

Good luck! The people here are very helpful. I would recommend something from the Evolved line. You get an amazing tin to store the toy in as well

I definitely agree. My first vibe was a traditional slimline, and it's my favorite.

Traditional without a second thought. G-Spot is much like P-Spot for guys. Took my girl 7-8 months of sessions to truly get the benefit out. She really enjoyed her rabbit though to the point she wore it out
