A traditional vibe is super easy to use and won't be quite as intimidating as a rabbit or g-spot vibe. They are more of a toy to work up to

I would say traditional, though my first was a pocket rocket.

Good luck and have fun!
Agreed!

I say g-spot, but what I mean is a traditional with a curve to it. Gives you more of a feel for it. (Though it could just be me, since slimlines bore me. ^^

I'd start off with a traditional vibe and if they were fond of that, then something a little more complex.

I think a traditional may be the way to go. Although I find having a traditional and bullet for clitoral stimulation works best.

Traditional. They're easy to use, and they're (usually?) offered at a reasonable price, so you won't be out a ton of money if you decide that vibes aren't your thing. Most are multi-speed as well.

I'd go with traditional. The Metallic Massager might suit that purpose.

My personal preference is for rabbit vibes. But for a first timer, I agree with what others have said. Go for something very traditional or a bullet. That way you can find out what you like without spending an arm and a leg. And the trial and error can be delicious!

I'd start with a bullet to get an idea of what you want when you want to invest more.

A traditional vibe or maybe a G Spotter (which of course, can be used as a traditional vibe as well) are good places to start.

I would not recommend a rabbit, as there are so many different ways women are built, the chance of the shaft and clit attachment being your "size" on the first try may not work. So many women are disappointed by inexpensive rabbits and so many rabbits are made from inferior materials (unless you are going the way of the Ina or the Soraya, which still may not fit.)

I wrote an article on "Beginner's Toys" and why we need to change our ideas of what is best for beginners. Article on Toys for Beginners

I hope it helps you.

Bullet vibrators are point and shoot. Perfect for new users. That's always what I recommend, and it's easy to find an inexpensive one that is well-made and reliable.

I had a bullet to start with, and I usually say to get that one, or to get a traditional slimline one. They both offer different types of stimulation, so you can figure out what you do and don't like right away.

Traditional is always a good bet. But if you're more of a clit-centered girl, you may want to look for something design specifically designed for clitoral stimulation.

Honestly, it depends on the person and how comfortable they are with themselves. Has the person had ANY G-spot stimulation, even by a partner's hands? If so then a G-spot vibe (without anything large, textured or fancy) may be a good idea. I'd have much rathered A G vibe over the traditional as my first toy. I never did get anything from a traditional vibe and nearly gave up on toys for good until I used a simple, cheap G-spot vibe then I became REAL interested!

For beginners, I usually recommend the Turbo Glider or Iconic Smoothie. They're both traditional vibrators that can be used internally or externally (or both at the same time, with some clever angling) so they let you explore.

Any type of bullet.

Start with the basics and work your way into what you enjoy from there.

If you know what you like, get something that focuses on that and maybe something that will let you experiment. If you are completely new to vibrators, I'd recommend doing what I did: buying a traditional vibe that can be used internally or externally. Some people don't like rabbits (they exist) or rather feel dissatisfied with the ones the purchase because of material, or because they might not have enough power, or because of the function it has, or the size... basically getting a good rabbit depends on knowing specifically what you like. The trying as you go method isn't the most efficient way, especially since rabbits can run pretty expensive, and most people don't have that kind of money to keep buying them if the one they have doesn't work out. Like wise, some might not now what works best for stimulating their g-spot (hard pressure vs. soft, rumbly vs. buzzy, level of strength, etc.) so trying to guess that on your first vibe might lead to disappointment.
I'd recommend getting a bullet or pocket rocket for clitoral stim., and getting a traditional vibe for internal stim, and figuring out what works best for you, before looking into the toys that will do what you want them to do. Less guess work, less wasted time/money, and more orgasms that way!

I suggest something very simple and traditional. Beware though, once you buy your first vibe/toy you won't stop!!

I would either get a traditional vibe, or a rabbit if you know your body pretty well. Sometimes people have trouble with a rabbit fitting their anatomy right.

i got a bullet first, but traditional is also a good idea
