LayaSpot Questions

I love my LayaSpot. It doesn't smell. I haven't used it under water, but I'm glad it's splash proof because it does get pretty wet with use.

It is only splash-proof rather than water-proof, although I have read reviews, and even some product information on other toy sites stating that it's water-proof, But I tend to believe the box, which clearly states splash-proof only.
Also It Isn't Silicone but rather 'Elastomed'. Mine came with a sample of silicone lube, which I doubt they would send with a silicone toy.
Just my two cents worth

I have since pitched my instructions, but I think mine said splashproof rather than waterproof. I got the Toyfluid (water-based) lube, and mine was smell-free! All of my FF toys have been totally odorless, actually.
I also have several toys from Fun Factory and one of the reasons I love them is that they are odor free.

I was under the impression that "Elastomed" was a polymer of silicone and some plastics. I could be wrong. It sure feels and acts like silicone.

I'm incredibly wary of fun factory because it turns out to be not so fun..

Just curious - did the smell fade away after washing or did it hang around for awhile? Im very interested in this toy but I cant tolerate strong chemical smells.

I've never had a Fun Factory toy smell at all. I don't have a LayaSpot, but the ones I have had no odor whatsoever.

Sometimes a smell-free item can arrive with a bit of an odor thanks to the packaging, especially in hot weather. I've never had a Fun Factory toy smell bad at all.

It had faded. I let it air out and it's been through LOTS of washings as it was my go-to for a loooooong time. I'm not sure how long it took but it's been ages since I even thought about this.

Perhaps it might be how long you've had your LAYAspot? Sometimes manufacturers improve the product or find better ways to put things together along the way. Just a thought .

I use mine in the shower all the time and run it under the tab fully when I'm washing it. Never actually stuck it in the sink and held it under water though...

We have several fun factory toys, and all have absolutely no smell to them. as for waterproof versus splashproof, i would say not to be used underwater but can be used around water or in the shower. certainly ours gets a dunkin under the tap when being cleaned and we are not too careful about keeping any end out of the water.

The instructions that came with mine said splash proof too. I can't remember what kind of lube came with mine but I'm pretty sure that the EF website said that the LAYAspot is made of elastomed which compatible with both water and silicone based lubes.

Still don't own one of these. Took it off the list long ago. I think there are better options.

I've also been curious the LAYAspot being splash-proof or waterproof. So the general conclusion on splash-proof? Toys that aren't waterproof just aren't worth the hassle in my opinion.

Waterproof is submerge-able. I doubt this is.

Definitely NOT waterproof. I have even had issues with lube getting into the battery compartment.

You are correct that the directions do not say it is waterproof. My wife and I have used ours in all sorts of very wet situations including the shower and the tub with no issues. But any kind of wet play is play at your own risk...
