This doesn't sound like something I want to get now. Sounds frustrating.
Help ASAP :(

Glad to hear they are safe now! Glad I was reading up on this before purchasing! I would freak out if mine were trapped!

Thank you for all of the advice I have set all my favorite toys free and managed to save my case and lock! Now, will I use my case again? I do not know. How did I do it? I played with the combination a lot. I tried to open it using 000 and then I tried to open it using my combination and I pressed down on the lock and the slide release button really hard and it popped right open. Don't know what did it but I am glad to have my toys back.

I would have reverted to the lock cutters immediately, and just gotten another box that latches shut, and get my own lock to lock it with an actual key.

Try WD40 or similar on the lock mechanism and hinge. Apply it with a generous hand, and let it soak in for a few minutes, then try again. If it's just jammed, that may be enough to get it moving again.

Hit the lock sharply a few times, though obviously be careful not to use enough force to damage your case. It's not the best way to unstick a lock, but it could be just enough to loosen the mechanism, so it's worth a shot.
Worst case scenario: cut the lock hinge. You're going to need really heavy cutters, if not actual lock cutters (you can find those at hardware stores). If you're careful, you'll still have a box to store your toys in, though it won't latch closed anymore.
Good luck, and I hope you manage to get your toys out soon! less

With these simple scrolling locks they sometimes throw a spring or slip slightly. You can usually open them by applying pressure to the open tab while jiggling the correct combination numbers one at a time.

I had a bike lock with a scrolling lock mechanism that would stick constantly. That's pretty much exactly what I'd have to do to pop it open. Sometimes I'd have to give it a good thump, too.
