Im shocking at remembering to take them out. But only one of my toys actually drains the batteries. I use rechargeable batteries so its no biggie if they die anyway.
Do you take the batteries out of your vibrators when they are not in use?

I do, but I sometimes forget to. But for the most part, I do, because it not only prolongs the life of the battery but it also keeps the interior of the vibrator from rusting and becoming unusable.

I voted away, but that because there are no toys in my rotation that take batteries, so I'm not going to leave the batteries in for a toy I only use once in a blue moon. That may change if i find a battery powered toy, i want always at the ready. I just got a fairly minimini and that may end out being the first toy I leave batteries in so it ready to go.

The only toy we have that have removable batteries are little bullet vibrators, and even though we don't use them very often, we still always take them out to prevent rusting or leaking. Force of habit.

I take the batteries out, because I am afraid that the batteries with somehow break and leak and then my beautiful toys would be destroyed.
10/30/2010
I try to remember because I go through batteries like crazy but I have a shitty memory. If I had all the money I've spent on batteries, I could buy a nice rechargable vibe

Being a college student, I tend to just move batteries from one appliance to another because I don't like to buy them. I also lose them really easily in the mess of my room. When it comes to my battery-powered vibe, I just leave them in so I won't have to go looking for them later. Another reason I love my Lelo Gigi, because I don't have to worry about batteries at all.

I always take out batteries. It extends the battery life, prevents ruining a toy with battery leakage, and prevents a toy from getting turned on accidentally. The battery-run toys I actually use all have little change purses full of batteries in their separator bags with them.
10/31/2010
Always ever since I ruined my first (thankfully cheap) vibe by keeping the batteries in and having them corrode.
10/31/2010
For the ones that I only use once in a while yes, for my favorites no because I use them almost every day and it would be a pain in the butt
10/31/2010
I do sometimes, but not very often. Just laziness, I guess. I am trying to switch to rechargeable, though.
10/31/2010
When I remember I do!
10/31/2010
I always take them out. They save battery life (I can't afford to just buy batteries whenever) and I'm so paranoid that they will corrode.
11/01/2010
I do on occasion, but I usually pass out with my fiance and forget to.
11/01/2010
Yes, I take the batteries out when I am finished with the toy. If you keep the batteries in the toy, it can use up the juices and the batteries won't last as long.
11/01/2010
Anyone who has voted "never" has never dropped a toy they were trying to subtly hide, causing it to go into super-vibrations.
Not that I know what that's like...

I use mine way to much to constantly be taking them out
11/02/2010
I always take my batteries out because I usually run the batteries down. I use the rechargeable batteries and it takes 2-4 to charge them. I want the batteries to be ready for next time.

They last pretty long without takin them out

I HATE fumbling in the middle of sex. Often My Man will grab a toy and surprise me, and he likes to often choose in the moment. Having to locate the proper battery for the toy he chose (some of ours take AA, some take AAA, some take N some take watch batteries) and then put the batteries in would be a waste of time. When I want him to use a toy on me, I want it NOW, not after 20 minutes of battery location and fumbling, while my arousal drops and we have to then start over. No thank you.
The toys we don't use often do not have batteries in them, but heavy rotation toys are always ready to go.
We ONLY use Duracell, preferably Duracell Ultra so the chance of one exploding is virtually nil. I don't buy cheap batteries, they waste money in the long run, use more dangerous chemicals (because you use MORE of them over time) and have more problems with dying and leaking.
I think with many things you get what you pay for. Buy good batteries, and there are no "surprises."

I never do

i don't take them out ever
11/08/2010
Yes I always do. Its a known fact it will drain them over time to a degree. Plus the batteries can go bad and ruin your toy.

Nope. Can't be bothered after I'm done using them.

It actually depends if it's a toy I use frequently or not. If I do use it frequently I don't usually take the batteries out. If it is a toy I only use every now and then I do take them out.

Leakage becomes more of an issue when the batteries are running low, so I'd recommend being more careful after you've used the toy for a while and the batteries are running down.

Never used to, but this site taught me differently.
