Unless the material is porous and I'm suspicious of the material I usually don't use a condom

I don't, but that's because I only use silicone or glass and they're fairly easy to clean.

All my vibrators (other than fairy wand) are made of non-porous material. I do not share my vibrators. There's really no need for condoms or toy covers.

Condoms for jelly, definitely. For hard plastic or glass...if it's only going to be used vaginally on me, no condom and I wash it after. If it gets put in someone else (especially in the butt) I use a condom.

I'd love an "other" option here. All my dildos but one are silicone and able to be boiled, so I don't use a condom on them, but if I had any that were jelly or some material with a safety rating of less than an eight or nine, I definitely would. Oh, and the toy I have that's not silicone, I only use a condom on if I use it anally.

I only use safe materials, silicone, glass and steel, with a few plastic items. I clean before and after and only share the ones that can be fully sterilized and then only with trusted partners, so I don't use condoms. No jelly or anything I'd worry about the materials being uncomfortable and nothing porous for me.

It depends on what the toy is made of if I use a condom or not. I use a condom for my rubber and jelly toys usually, especially if I'm using them anally.

I know this is an old post, but I have been using condoms on all of my toys for 25+ years. I have always done it since I found out that it DOES preserve the life of the gel/rubber type dildos. I have found to be much cheaper to protect the dildos than it is to replace some of the dildos I have paid over $100 each for
