Purple, blue, red, and black. Also, steel grey (because that's what color steel is).

What color vibe/dildo do you tend to go for?

I try to have a variety of colors if possible. It makes to easier to tell my partner "grab the purple one" than to have him learn all the model names of the toys. If all my toys were the same color it would be much harder to explain which one I want. And since a lot of the time I am bound I usually can't just grab the one I want myself.

I agree completely with the design aesthetics is most important, and it totally makes sense that subconsciously we pick the color for the feeling we think it will give us(red being bold and daring,i think black is seductive)etc.

For me, while color isn't everything, I do appreciate the design aesthetics that go into the production of anything. Considering how necessary and enjoyable the sexual experience is for people universally, the fact that they are coming out with more ergonomically, environmentally friendly, and "fashionable" looking toys goes to show the thought going into products for the consumer. And to me, that shows whether a company is worth investing into or not, regardless of product.
So, that brings me to your question. Well, being the artsy fartsy person I am, I am actually with Nire on this. For me, the design of the toy itself, both externally and internally, lends itself to being suitable for certain colors. It's not so much the COLOR itself that I am attracted to on its own, since I can find any color beautiful and appropriate for a certain occasion, but rather how the entire package looks and presents itself.
Normally, lime green is not my forte, for instance, but the Zini Zook or Hua just look perfect in that color. The texture and the shape of the toy against the white handle makes the green stick out and look both lively, organic, and quite stylish without it punching you in the retinas. Very effective usage of the color and the construction of the toy itself.
Also, there is color association too. There are many design elements, occasions, aesthetics, and reasons for choosing a toy with a certain color. Sometimes it's as simple as "Oh, I'll get this toy because it's my favorite color!", but sometimes you see a toy that may be big in girth, or has intense vibrations, so you end up buying it in a more daring color like a bold red or black to trigger your brain saying it's going to be an intense ride and vice versa. Then there are those who choose toys with more neutral colors or colors that both genders would enjoy if they are coupled off with someone else. These are just examples where color may play a roll in your decision making.
For personal overall preference though, I do have a knack for more muted, rare "luxurious" colors like wine, red, teal, velvet, pale lavendar, pale pink, dark blue, baby blue, peach, tan, and definitely black. I think these colors are very sophisticated and can really set in the mood for any age group and whether you are in a relationship or not. But like I said, I can love any color, to be honest.
What would be really uniquely sexy and different would be a vibe that is Hunter's green and combined with black or white with a subtle vine like texture or groove going through it. When my body is ready for it, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. less

Really couldn't say why I go for pink/purple, but I have noticed that I'm starting to branch out in colors as well as style. Looking at things I used to buy or want, they look cheap and flashy to me now. Most of the things I want nowadays look more stylish and sophisticated and the colors are more varied. Pink and purple still catch my eye first, but white, black, deep red and lime green are also very attractive to me now as well. Still don't really care for baby pink/blue or orange though. less

Vibes, I don't really care as long as it's a darker color- blue, green, etc. Though I have settled for dark purple or white in the past.
Cocks, black if I can get it. If not, the darker the better.

I'd prefer darker or "sophisticated" or "sexy" colors... black, red, metallics, dark blues, dark purple. I'm already really over having pink, baby blue, & lavender as choices. It seems to me that the nicer colors are often on the traditional vibes (i.e. nasty hard plastic) & anything fancy gets the girly colors. I've never understood why girly/feminine has to be associated with colors for infants. Since we're talking about sex toys, that's really a little creepy.
