I just wrote this but dont think it went through! Anyways, I always tend to pick vibes/dildos that are colored opposed to flesh colored ones.I noticed by watching the videos that I am not the only one.In my box I noticed I go after blue and red toys. Those aren't my favorite colors so I dont know why I pick them.(it must be a subconcious thing). What color/colors do you tend to go for when picking a toy and why do you think you choose those colors??

Captivating topic discussions on Vibrating dildos:
Dildos/vibrators that look (and feel!) realistic
I'm trying to figure out what toys to buy once my Eden Points reach a decent level (plus my birthday GC, yay!) and one of the things I'd love to have.
dildos or vibrators??
Personally, I love realistic dildos versus a vibrator. I was wondering what other people thought and what you think makes a difference?
Realistic or smooth?
Do you prefer smooth shafts or more realistic shafts?
Stronic Eins- dildos vs vibes
The Stronic Eins caught my eye because it seems like everything I like about dildos amplified. Do you think this would be a good toy for someone who..
suction cup dildos
Do they make a suction cup dildo that does not smell?

I like the blues!

Cool colors! I have a green Harmonia, Blue and green Bullet Buddies, purple Seduction, blue Naughtibod...

I think just about all my toys have been pink or purple. I'm eying a few black ones right now though. They just look so classy.
08/17/2011
Purples, dark or light pinks, blacks.

I love green but it's not an overly popular color. I generally go for blue, purple, or black. If none of those are available I prefer the NOT pink option.

so ive noticed that alot of you guys are fans of blue too!why do you think thats such an attractive color? Is it a subliminal(not sure if I spelled that correctly!lol) thing?

Okay I'm so glad I came across this post! My first dildo was clear with sparkles. I loved it but my partner didn't and it had very poor functionality. Since my life out of the closet I have gained more knowledge about what works and what doesn't. But secretly my heart still pants for anything cutesy and preferably pink...

I like blue and purple the best, followed by either black or white. Generally, I just go with whatever color looks best on a particular toy.

I've been trying to get more yellow toys. I like to have a rainbow of colors though!

I go for flesh colored ones. I do web cam shows so guys like to relate to themselves. I really didn't have a color preference i preferred material and shape to color prior.

we like a variety of colors.
08/18/2011
We tend to get purple or pink toys- it wasn't actually intentional at first, but then we realized we had a whole box of girly toys!
08/18/2011
blue, or maybe purple? I tend to like the bright colors more than the flesh ones.

mostly Pink
08/21/2011
I go more for the functions and size/shape than the colors.

I like brightly colored toys; green is my favorite. If the toy doesn't come in a color that I want or like, it's no big deal since it's just for aesthetics.
08/21/2011
Well thats it..why do you think you are more attracted to colored ones or a certain color??I still havent figured it out on why those certain toys stick out to me the most because it is all about design and texture!
09/12/2011
I like pink and black but happy with flesh too
09/12/2011
Probably subconsiously evokes good feelings connected to the color in the past. Like for instance when I see a certain color/model jeep driving down the road it gets me all hot and bothered because an x had one and we would go out in the country and get freeeeky in there

I buy a lot of pink and black because those are my favorite colors. I would not recommend the black though as you can see just about everything on them. Helps with cleaning, but has a bit of a yuck factor for some people I would imagine. I'm also a sucker for anything with glitter or that glows in the dark.
09/12/2011
We also tend to get more brightly colored ones instead of fleshy colored ones.

Weirdly enough, I usually go for pink.

I don't have very many toys, but I can tell you what I look for while browsing.
For me, while color isn't everything, I do appreciate the design aesthetics that go into the production of anything. Considering how necessary and enjoyable the sexual experience is for people universally, the fact that they are coming out with more ergonomically, environmentally friendly, and "fashionable" looking toys goes to show the thought going into products for the consumer. And to me, that shows whether a company is worth investing into or not, regardless of product.
So, that brings me to your question. Well, being the artsy fartsy person I am, I am actually with Nire on this. For me, the design of the toy itself, both externally and internally, lends itself to being suitable for certain colors. It's not so much the COLOR itself that I am attracted to on its own, since I can find any color beautiful and appropriate for a certain occasion, but rather how the entire package looks and presents itself.
Normally, lime green is not my forte, for instance, but the Zini Zook or Hua just look perfect in that color. The texture and the shape of the toy against the white handle makes the green stick out and look both lively, organic, and quite stylish without it punching you in the retinas. Very effective usage of the color and the construction of the toy itself.
Also, there is color association too. There are many design elements, occasions, aesthetics, and reasons for choosing a toy with a certain color. Sometimes it's as simple as "Oh, I'll get this toy because it's my favorite color!", but sometimes you see a toy that may be big in girth, or has intense vibrations, so you end up buying it in a more daring color like a bold red or black to trigger your brain saying it's going to be an intense ride and vice versa. Then there are those who choose toys with more neutral colors or colors that both genders would enjoy if they are coupled off with someone else. These are just examples where color may play a roll in your decision making.
For personal overall preference though, I do have a knack for more muted, rare "luxurious" colors like wine, red, teal, velvet, pale lavendar, pale pink, dark blue, baby blue, peach, tan, and definitely black. I think these colors are very sophisticated and can really set in the mood for any age group and whether you are in a relationship or not. But like I said, I can love any color, to be honest.
What would be really uniquely sexy and different would be a vibe that is Hunter's green and combined with black or white with a subtle vine like texture or groove going through it. When my body is ready for it, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I prefer cool colors to warm colors, and black to white. I generally try to avoid pink, but some toys look awesome enough to ignore the color.

BLACK!!!
09/14/2011
I seem to have collected a LOT of purple toys. It wasn't intentional at first, but once I noticed the theme I started going with it I have a couple of pink ones, as well. Nothing natural, though.
09/14/2011
What's funny about the fact that I tend to go for pink is that I used to HATE the color pink! I avoided it at all costs.
Really couldn't say why I go for pink/purple, but I have noticed that I'm starting to branch out in colors as well as style. Looking at things I used to buy or want, they look cheap and flashy to me now. Most of the things I want nowadays look more stylish and sophisticated and the colors are more varied. Pink and purple still catch my eye first, but white, black, deep red and lime green are also very attractive to me now as well. Still don't really care for baby pink/blue or orange though.
