I take good care of my toys-- as long as it keeps working and stays clean, I'll keep it!

How long do you keep your silicone toys?
12/24/2012
I would die if I had to throw away some of my favorite toys

I think the expiration issue on menstrual cups is due to the little holes in them...try as we might it's likely they will eventually catch bacteria!

Thanks! I was just wondering because I was wandering around Wikipedia and another use for silicone is in Menstrual cups, and it said they should be replaced every 5-10 years. I use my toys WAY more than I would use cups and I wasn't sure if the "wear and tear" would affect the lifetime of the material.
I figured Menstrual cups would be the closest thing to sex toys in the medical-grade silicone department. less

My old one also discolored over time, so even though it was probably okay, I did want to replace it!

I have not gotten rid of any of my toys because I only have 2 and I recently got them.

Cat E.
We're told silicone toys will last a lifetime if taken care of properly.

I have never thrown out any yet. Only had them for over a year though
01/06/2013
Until they're no longer useful.

as long as its been taken care of or has no broken pieces i won't throw it away.

My first toy was silicone, that was about 4 years ago. I still have it and still is just as nice as the day I bought it.
02/09/2013
I'll let you know in 50 years.
02/09/2013
I say keep them forever.
02/09/2013
Love you long time.
02/22/2013
I wouldn't throw any of mine away unless they looked really wrecked and hard to clean.
I suspect the reason menstrual cups get replaced more often is due to discoloration.

Forever!
02/27/2013
Forever or as long as they last. I have had the same toys for years. Just take care of them well.
03/15/2013
Heh, I see no reason why I wouldn't say "forever"! As long as you take good care of your silicone toys (avoid silicone lubes, etc.) I see no reason why they wouldn't last for an indefinite amount of time. My oldest Tantus dildo is probably around 5 years old now, and it still looks brand new.
03/16/2013
I take care of mine so I plan on keepin them forever
05/15/2013
As long as the last and are not damaged I'm keeping mine
05/15/2013
I've never had to throw a silicon toy away really
05/15/2013
Take care of them and they should last forever.
05/15/2013
I plan on keeping my silicone toys for as long as they're useable. If they were going to somehow sustain damage, I'd be forced to toss.
05/16/2013
Forever if I like it. Otherwise I try to give it a new home

With proper care, we expect our silicone dildos to last the rest of our lives.
We expect our silicone vibrators will eventually go bad. Either the motors will wear out or the switches will malfuction due to use.
The toys will built in rechargeable batteries will be the first to go. The batteries will reach the point where they just quit holding a charge. We will discard them at that point.
