I think they might be a little light for my taste
How do you guys feel about wooden toys?

STRANGE

I'm pro-wood, as long as the item has a super safe coating, like the "Lubrosity" finish on the Nob Essence toys. I've read about the potential chemical hazards various wood types can do to our bodies, and I will not buy a wood toy that has only a few layers of Salad Bowl Finish on it.

I thought it sounded weird at first and hard to clean, but I looked into it recently and found out that the finish is sealed very well. So I don't have one yet but I am planning on getting one.

I would like to try one out and see if it's for me.

I think they are fine.

I've never used one but they are gorgeous. Who knows, I might try one someday if there's a good sale.

I'm testing one for my blog... I like it.

Growing up in a house made mostly of wood, the risk of splinters does not bold well for me!

I like that wooden toys are on the market. However, they have a coating of material that makes them body safe. If this coating is scratched, the material is no longer body-safe. You can dip it in water, and if you see a "wet spot", that means that the coating has been scratched in that area. Thus, I do not prefer wooden toys, and prefer something more body-safe.

I don't have any wooden toys (yet), but I would love to get some! It's a safe material that looks gorgeous and should last forever with proper care and cleaning!

i just feel like it would absorb alot of things... even if its treated i still have that mindset

I don't understand what makes them so special over other materials.

I feel like making a wood toy would be pretty easy!! Time consuming with designing, sanding, glazing/finishing, etc.
I'm a bit scared to try it though...splinters! eek!

I don't know. Wood is porous and reacts to humidity and causes splinters.

I am interested in trying one. I have worked around wood enough to know that so long as it is proper;y sealed it will work quite nicely so it is all in the craftsmanship of the product. Being as there are so many different types of wood you could really play around with it. A harder heavier wood or a lighter one depending on what you like normally. I don't see how it would be much different than many other toys out there.

I'm not opposed to sticking a tree up my hoo-hah. It looks like a neat material and as long as there are no splinters involved I am willing to give it a try.

I guess I'll have to order it from Nob Essence since Eden doesn't stock them any more.
