I like the silicone, no big issues with it. I do like glass also, but I need to be careful with but it does feel good. I am awaiting the arrival of my first piece of metal!!!

Silicone or glass

Silicone feels great, transfers vibration well, and cleans up easily.

Silicone, glass or metal. Silicone for the softness and the others are just so easy to care for.

Silicone is my favorite!

Silicone, glass and metal for me. For non-vibrating dildos I like the dual density ones - VixSkin (personal favorite) and Tantus O2.

I like glass. Glass is safe to use even if you only clean it before you use.

This may seem a bit embarrassing, but I had to throw away four of my dildos because I did not clean them properly. Instead of cleaning them after each use, I would clean them before I was ready to use them again. I ended up getting a pretty bad yeast infection as a result of it. So I was wondering what you all thought I should do for my next purchases, what would you recommend, how should I store my dildos... I feel kinda dumb and careless. I don't know how open I am to glass or metal products, but if you can tell me some benefits I may give it a shot.

I personally love glass. Its easy to clean and the temperature play is off the charts

Glass, metal and silicone are all non-porous, so they won't hold bacteria. Still you should clean them properly after each use.

Silicone all the way.

Silicone and glass are best for easy clean up

Silicone will probably be best for you since it sounds like your used to softer materials than glass or metal. That said, glass and metal are GREAT materials. They don't harbor any bacteria and clean up easy as can be. They can be boiled to sanitize them if you've gone a while without cleaning them. You can do this with silicone as well so long as it doesn't have a motor. Also glass and metal can be used for temperature play and the firm material adds an new sensation.
I would suggest, like Rossie, to get into a routine of cleaning. After your done, clean up right away. Once you get in the habit it will be harder to break. Also stay away from jelly, UR3, latex, Cyber Skin, etc. If it's porous material once the bacteria is on it - it's on it. There's really no cleaning it off. It can build up even if you clean it right away. less

Silicone and glass are my favorites, but I'd like to try metal and acrylic.

I recommend silicone when you are new to toys.

Silicone is my favourite by far.

Silicone is easy. All you have to do is boil it, same with glass.

I love silicone of course

I vote for Vixskin. It's silicone with a feel fairly close to "the real thing". It's easy to care for and very durable. You can heat it or cool it and it holds temperature pretty well. Glass is even better at holding heat or cold, and it's also easy care and durable. It's hard as, well, glass--but if you like the hardness, glass can be great. I've also heard good things about metal, but I have no personal experience with it.
