Should beginners to anal toys go for a "beginners" model?

Even if the kit is made with quality materials, it seems like a better idea just to buy individual toys. Then you can find stuff that you like, and change your plan as you go along. Suppose you start with a 1" dildo, then progress to a 1.5" dildo, and find that too big. Then you can find one that's 1.25" thick. Or maybe you find yourself craving more texture or length. When you're new to toys, and don't know what you like, buying multiple toys at the same time is a bad idea. Buy one at a time, while you figure out what you like.

I would recommend just buying toys by themselves versus buying them in a beginners kit.

My fiancee and I were going to buy a beginners kit, but there are no kits made of silicone! We decided to buy a few different size silicone toys.

I feel a lot of the beginners are overpriced. I'd use fingers and lube first then work on a medium plug that has a nice length and plenty of variety in girth.

I would just buy a small starter toy, then I would buy the next step up when ready.

Find A good quality, well reviewed toy in the size you like and go for it. Fingers are the ultimate "beginners toy" for anal, and the most important purchase is your LUBE. If, after you know you like it, you want to go for a "set"...sure, why not.

I agree. Most SETS I saw for beginners, I honestly now...as HIGHLY experienced, would still find too big, or too firm...etc.

Definitely over priced and there are better quality as well with separate toys that can work on beginners.

I agree - even someone who isn't a "beginner" may decide 1" is the best size for them. There's no need to buy multiple toys at once before you know what you like.

Agreed.

Yeah, I bought a number of large dildos because of how cool looking they are. Once they got here I realized just how big they are and that I couldn't really use them on anyone. Then I got the Mistress dildo and I am really impressed by how easy it is to insert and use.

Also, it's interesting how people are using the term "average," but not giving measurements. It's easy to look at numbers online and think that a toy isn't that big until you see it in real life. Around 3 inches in CIRCUMFERENCE seems to be a good place for many people to start. Diameter? Not so much

Starter sizes are great but the kits smell gross.

I tend to do a lot of research before I buy a toy. I find that the beginner's kits are rarely worth it. Even if one or 2 components are worth it, they are rarely made of all high quality, and worth products.
My personal experiences has been do a lot research, and buy individual pieces that will last me a long time.

I'm not a big fan of the kits primarily because they are generally not made of the best materials. However, I do think it's a good idea to start with slimmer toys. I still think the best beginner anal toy is a copious amount of a good lube, and fingers with trimmed fingernails

there are beginning toys that are fabulous for beginning butt sex, but really, all you need is a butt friendly and safe toy and a good lube. There's no need to drop all your money on a kit that may not even be body safe (a lot of them aren't).
