While I was sleeping it seems as if grand changes have yet again occurred and no one on this side of the planet was able to contribute anything to the discussion.
How do you feel about the "Point proposal"?
06/23/2013
Not to mention, when I sometimes open the new section and I see that Jopen just came ut with three new vibes, and fun factory came out with a bunch of toys in the same colour.... I do want them all so wish list them all in a short period of time. Is this really point farming or just massive excitement at new stock?

This is my main concern too-- I have written reviews on a lot of the promotional items I have received simply because I had them and thought I would give my opinion on them. I did this when reviews were worth 50 points, so I hope it isn't a problem or considered "farming" that I continued to do so after they were worth more-- I was just trying to contribute to the community.

MANY people wrote those reviews with the idea that they were "giving back" to EF. Not everyone wrote them for points. Sure, some did. Others, however, thought... Eden gave me something for free, and I want to review everything that I get from Eden as a way of giving back to the company. It's as simple as that.
Also, some thoughts on point farming, because this seems to be all the talk these days...
I have a feeling we're all going to be considered point farmers -- even those of us who contribute meaningful content. I write reviews which many people on here will agree are high quality. I contribute to discussions, and yeah, sometimes the games threads where we say what time it is. I comment on reviews and vote on them on a daily basis, because as a review writer, I know that it feels kinda shitty when no one comments on your reviews. I like items on Facebook daily -- but this promotes EF.
But, ah... calling people point farmers is silly, because you can't claim that people abuse the system if your system tells them how to do it, and ALLOWS them to do it.
Don't want people commenting or rating reviews just for points? Cool, make it so that they won't receive points for rating or commenting on reviews without having to wait 10-15 minutes between rating/commenting. Don't want people to be able to spam the community? Put that same limit in place. BUT if your system allows users to point farm... honey, they're not abusing the system, they're just doing what you let them. And who could blame them when the homepage used to advertise that people could get free toys? Who could blame them when it's all over the site that they can earn free shit with their points?
The issue here is not what the people did; it's what EF allowed them to do. Pretending otherwise is simply passing the blame, and frankly, being really naive and silly. less

Or what about writing reviews on discontinued items? Is that point farming too? I did post about it in the forums asking for suggestions before I went ahead and posted my reviews. It had always been EF's admins stance to write reviews even on discontinued items as it might help someone. If this is not the case, let us know.
I think the biggest problem with the community is the utter lack of communication. Changes happen so quickly no one knows where they stand. Not to mention, changes happen, yet are so vague but all people who answer questions disappear. Or refuse to answer questions by multiple members.

""5. If your request will be denied and you will publicly accuse Company, Company reserves the rights to publicly disclose its findings, including your personal information, to substantiate its decision."
So, if I apply for my points to be honoured, and you decide I am a point farmer, and I complain about it, you will post my personal information in public? Wow. Disgusting.

Seriously though he is mad that people wrote reviews on the wipes, cock ring, and the damn bag? Why did he even let people review those items if he didn't want us to? I can bet most of us have written reviews on those to reach that amount of points for that toy you've been lusting after. He's punishing us for doing what he has allowed us to do! This whole thing is messed up. And for being active in the community he's being real bratty about that as well. Geez he needs to chill out and really look at the situation he's in.
06/23/2013
I -liked- the reviews on the free items, because it let me decide what I would get. When the bag became available, I considered getting one instead of the wipes. After I read the reviews, though, I decided, nope, I'd stick with wipes. He may think they're "pointless," but they have their place. -Also-, it's not like those products are -only- free. People can still buy them, so what if someone wanted to buy it, but wanted some reviews on them first?

I haven't gone through the effort of seeing if my points would go against that criteria that Fred laid out, but I think they would. Getting the max number of points for posting in the forums and rating reviews is easy and I thought it was encouraged. I've often posted over the max in the forums. Then liking is advertising for EF. And I was locked out of my account and suspended from earning points for a month for being accused of point farming, although I didn't do any of the things that are listed in the EOC. I was surprised to recently find out that ProppertyOfPotter was too and that Beck and Kira were banned. I've also posted in those counting threads because they sometimes seem fun, and I figured that if they were against the rules they would be deleted. I've never seen any of them deleted or heard anyone say that it's wrong to post in them. They're just as pointless as the ones that are like, "do you like mayonnaise? yes or no?" but I haven't even seen those removed.
It's ridiculous that that thread was closed so quickly; I missed out on getting to post to it. I'm starting to wonder why I'm wasting my time here when I could be doing something more constructive like reading a book or get real compensation for my time that I can spend wherever I like, on whatever I want.

Trust me, I was equally surprised, but very afraid that I would instantly be banned if I stuck up for myself. Your surprise makes me feel that much better because I feel that you (and hopefully others) have recognized that I'm a valued contributor and did nothing to deserve what happened. The more that people are speaking out, the more surprising it is in the number of contributors who've been through this points ban. I'm sorry to hear you were also suspended, and hope things work out for you from now on.

there are certainly more effective ways to bring about change w/o losing reputation & loyalty while garnering such hostility that has been made so public to many sites.

So is it even worth trying to fill in the form? Are we all just plain doomed?

If you're one of the people who takes the stance that you either get your points as they were originally intended or you're done with EF, then you have nothing to lose by filling out the form! You'll either get approved and be able to spend your points, or declined and... go shop somewhere else.

If you are sticking with EF and are cool with the 15% change, then... in that case, I don't know if it would be worth it. If you intend to keep ordering from EF in the future, knowing that (even if you do get approved for using your previously earned points all at once) you can only use 15% of your points, the possibility of being declined as an "abuser" and having all your points deleted is kind of a gamble...
Side note, all my reviews are "unpublished", yet I can see them from my dashboard. My ranking, which was 5.3 last I checked, is now nowhere to be found. Interesting to see how EF will judge my case when they can't see any of my reviews or customers' comments on them...
06/23/2013
I'm really confused what it is EF is wanting to develop. there's been so much conflicting info. presented & no overall clarification provide. this is what we need - real specific clarification.

I want to know where the Hell people were when the abuse began and why they ignored it. See? This is what happens when you ignore people telling you that there is abuse going on. I remember NUMEROUS threads of old contributors trying to get through to the admins and Fred that there was a lot of abuse going on and plagiarized reviews. No one did ANYTHING about it. Now, EF is in financial crisis and everyone suddenly cares about the gobs of free money given away to people who abused the system? Pff.

So. As far as I can tell, members have wanted to do away with all the inane comments and ridiculous posts, but it was deemed, 'unwelcoming' and 'negative community atmosphere' by the people you out in place to run the chicken coup. And you blame us for an abuse of something you allowed to happen.
Seems as if we are being punished for something that has been brought up multiple times by commuity members and all of us were shot down by management.
