Oh Lordy, I'm getting frustrated with people applying for the mentor program!

I have been a mentor since the program started. During that time, I have had many students, some of whom write reviews very quickly, some of whom take their time, and some who never write reviews. My role in the mentor program is to be helpful to people. I remember that when I joined Eden, the program did not exist. Instead, I learned from chugging away, so I'm always happy to give advice and guidance to people when it is wanted.

In my opinion, people who do not participate in the program are always going to be a part of it. Although the points and gift cards are wonderful, they are just a perk to the program. The true meaning of the program is to be helpful. My advice to you is that even though those students who do not participate can be nerve wracking, you can choose to cancel their class. Just wait it out. I had one student who stopped communication because of a battle with cancer. You never really know the situation. After that, I calmed down quite a bit and give my students more room.

I find it frustrating as a student to submit review and the mentor takes their sweet time on getting back with you. I almost want to cancel and request you as a mentor.

You have to understand that students have a life outside of Eden as well as Mentors have lives outside of Eden. Patience is a virtue and helps when it comes to this. I have 1 student who hasn't responded to an email about getting a list together for an assignment. I have another who has items on the way to them. Life happens outside of Eden an if a student of mine doesn't do a review right away in class that is their choice not mine. I am not really in it for the extra points and what not I want to help others around the site.

I didn't read through all of the comments but I wanted to chime in.

I haven't been around as much lately and today I went through my student requests. A number of them had stated in the "message to mentor" that they were only requesting me for points.....

One person stated:

"Wouldn't mind to learn your ways , but im doing this for the points lol ^^"

and another:

"I want the point ^^"

If that's the case, turn them into an admin. That's point farming and not cool bro.

I got the same ones as what she mentioned above, I know there are a few others that did too. Looking at their profiles, they were people who found eden one day and never returned. Which is why you didn't get an email from me.

I appreciate the mentoring program and it is valuable tool it is a shame that so many people take advantage of it...I think we should have to go threw the mentoring program to be able to move up in reviews...Maybe if only a certain few items are available for the mentoring then you work your way up to good stuff then people would think twice before standing up the person trying to help them

I am on the other end of the frustrating part. I have not gotten a reply from my mentor in 22 days. I have no clue what to do about it though. I send messages every few days to check in but i still hear nothing back.
