Pictures of lingerie but video when it comes to toys
Videos vs. Pictures in Reviews?
06/08/2012
I am beginning to think that pictures help in examining the item more closely from different perspectives, such as comparing sizes or shapes from other familiar products.
I find that a video adds a visual in how the product performs, as if a sales person gives a demonstration. It may be more difficult to 'write' the demonstration in the review. In some cases, a video doesn't add any further information if it can be written in the review. I can skim the review better and faster than watching a video.
Overall, I would place pictures as #1 over videos.

I believe your points are well takes. There is a time or place for using either a Video or a Picture; or both. I sometimes think that people overuse these tools in their Reviews, and the result is a less than effective outcome.

It all depends.
A picture of a product on it's own really doesn't help me all that much, nor does countless pictures of a products packaging. An advert video or a video of the product in use doesn't help me either.

This being said, videos talking about the toy, the pro's and con's, comparing various toys together, or providing some tricks in how to use the toy are the videos I enjoy watching. And the same thing goes for pictures. And because this is what I enjoy, I try to make my reviews in this manner. less

Videos do take longer to watch, thanks for your views.

Both. I do lean towards photos though because that's what I include in my reviews. I like to see what the product actually looks like instead of just a stock photo

I clicked for both, but also pictures because they both are helpful but I see pictures even more helpful. Not everyone has a normal computer that actually works. For example, mine only ever wants to have load videos. So it's just a pain to watch them half of the time. So it makes it nicer if they have videos because it's not something that a slower computer will effect.

I find both to be very helpful! Though I tend to only watch the videos if I still have questions after reading the review/looking at the pictures.

Being a visual person, it is helpful to have either video or pictures. Both is ideal.

Pics, if I want to see how a toy moves, .gif it.

I really like seeing pics and videos. It really makes a difference if someone spends extra time to give them a nice quality. It gives me a better idea of what I could possibly buy, and allow me to make my own judgement of the item. If I like the ridges of something, the real color, seeing a size comparison helps. Plus, I like seeing the flexibility and suction strength of a dildo.

I like to see videos on reviews that are unique or really expensive. I really want to know what I'm buying before I buy it, so I seek out videos for those products.

Otherwise, pictures are just fine and with the new slideshows they're even better.

I really need to see both, for different reasons.

Both are helpful. It really depends on the product.

I do like both!

I like both video and written reviews with pictures. I think written reviews tend to be more thorough though due to not being saddled with time constraints. With written, you can deliberate and edit with greater ease. But, I find all of the methods used in reviewing to be a great deal of help. I thank the reviewer's.
