Should comments on reviews be more interesting?

Those comments are pretty boring..

While I appreciate people commenting and saying thanks, I sometimes wish (usually after seeing a whole wall of "Thanks for the review") they'd be a bit more specific as to why-like, "Thanks, I was thinking of getting one and this helped."
But I'm still glad someone took the time to read my review and thought it was good enough to say thanks.

Yes comments should be longer or more thought out

I always try to say more than just "Great review" or "Thanks for the review". Although, sometimes I do say only that, when I'm in a rush.

Most of my comments include what I liked about their review, what I think maybe needed improvement (usually nothing) and my opinion about the toy if I tried it.

I just read a great review that had ten comments. Of those ten, five said, "Great review", four stated, "Thanks for the review", and one said, "Nice review". I feel bad for the person who wrote the review as she did a really great job.

I appreciate longer comments and suggestions on my review, but at the same time I like knowing that folks are reading my reviews as well. So...I'm a bit torn both ways.

Should comments consist of more than just those four words?
Since I was one of the people who started thanking others for their reviews I think it's fine...ok so it get's repetitive but sometimes just being told "Hey Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your experiences with this product" is a great lift to the heart. That's how I mean it at any rate...on my part it is genuine, since I find no need to 'point farm'. Unless it is deemed to be unacceptible by the community I will continue to give a word of thanks to reviewers I feel have shared something of themselves with me.
Being a writer I generally do say more than just a few words but at the same time sometimes there's not much left to say, if that makes sense.
At least if you are getting these words you can be reasonably sure people are readaing your reviews.

I much prefer "POUND IT MAN" or "What, no fire?"

Yes, I would much rather more feedback on how to do better next time.

The onslaught of reviews that only say "thanks", "good", "nice", etc. continues. I recently saw a "thanks for the review" comment on an item that where the review had been posted on a blog (linked to from EF). Clicking on the link revealed that the blog was long gone! FYI, the comment had been left just before I looked at the review. It was very obvious that the person who left the comment hadn't looked at the review. Ugh!

Although specific information and questions are preferred, I don't feel like someone should be ostracized for thanking someone for writing a review, as long as they read it and truly liked it.

I'll post a question on the comment if important information was being left out from the reviews. I do sometimes just say "Great review, Thank you!" if the review was done wonderfully, I can't help but let the reviewer know how good a job he/she has done!
