Yeah, it depends on the product and the person who reviews it!!

Do you think reviews on gag items can be truly useful?

It depends on the person reviewing it.

I think they can be useful. For example, does the item fall apart five minutes after you take it out of the package, or is it surprisingly sturdy? Does it smell funny? Does it look nothing like the picture? Even if I'm just picking up a $5 gag gift for someone, it's nice to have a review or two conformint that it isn't total crap.

possibly. like I reviewed Pecker ice molds, and yesterday I submitted the video review to you that you had said i could do one on, and personally i think it is useful for that because it worksgood u just have to be careful; unlike the boobie one that i had to just get rid of, too frusterating to try to be "REALLY carefuul" putting the water in freezer.

Your thoughts? Can this type of review really be truly useful? As useful as the review of an item meant as more than a gag? less

but some items, no

Sure they can be extremely useful. When buying anything online, it's great to have some idea of the quality of what you're buying. Size, smell, etc. is also nice to know. This can really only be accomplished by someone checking it out and reviewing it.

To me, the value or goofiness of the item doesn't affect the value of the review. The review can be useful or extremely useful for information about the item, no matter how useful or useless the item itself is.

Can we really consider them as useful as a review on something more serious?
I mean, sure, there are good party hats and not so great party hats but when I see a review of a party hat voted extremely useful I compare it to, say, your latest review of the Midnight Twist...
And I just cannot see that they can be compared equally, said to both be of the same usefulness.
Maybe it's just the way my mind works. I don't expect a $4 bag of penis confetti to be anything more than a $4 bag of penis confetti, review or no review, and so the reviews are, in my head, not ever extremely useful. Useful? Yes, usually. Extremely useful? Hells no. less

Even if I am looking for something under $5 there are things I want to know about the product before I buy it. Some products meant as gag gifts are cheap but look great and won't fall apart before you can even gift it...some aren't worth the crap they are made of.
Now I know ticklers aren't meant to be serious toys like Siri or others but for us they are just as serious as a vibe or massager. We use them more than we use some of the other more expensive ones. If a review is well written and includes the sort of information that would help me decide whether a product is worth the money being charged then I think it's extremely useful...or at the very least useful.
That's just my opinion. less

If I were looking for a gag gift, I'd still want to read reviews on it. Even if I know the general purpose of it.
If I get that pussy mold, I want to know that it's not going to burn for days, or something like that.

Now I hate to repeat what most others have already said, but here is my two cents. I think as long as they are well written and give good details about the product, I want to see reviews on them. I am a very picky shopper, anecdote it drives my wife crazy. So buying something online that I can't see in person before bothers me. I want to know, gag gift or not, the quality of the item, how wells it compares to the picture, product description, etc. Considering I am one of those people that dig to the back of a display to get the product that hasn't been handled by twenty people to begin with, I want to get my monies worth even on a gag gift.

I think it depends on the product and the person reviewing it, but if I was in the market for a good gag gift, I would want someone's opinion on it.
