Do you like to see photos of product packaging in reviews?
Product packaging photos -- yay or nay?

For me, these are the least useful types of photos someone can put in a review. Packaging will NEVER influence my decision to buy something. 90% of the time, I throw it away anyway. It doesn't matter if it's a bag or a box or tissue paper or a bottle.
Maybe I would have a different opinion years ago -- literally-- when some of the companies first started offering neat boxes but I have seen it all now. Yawn. Save your effort.

Unless it is something truly noteworthy, I don't care about packaging. Luxury lines give you nice storage boxes, I don't need to see a picture of it.

I think it helps round out the review. You get to see everything from the second you get it in the mail to it being worn or used. I think all are helpful!

I like to include them in my reviews but if people don't like to see them, sorry, perhaps look over them?

My thoughts too.

I include them because it may influence if you're looking to give it as a gift. If you want to give something classy and nice as a wedding present or something, you don't want something that has naked women all over it. I think that it also helps those that like to store their toys in packaging.

Yeah, agreed.

I agree with this too. The more information I can get ahead of time the better.

One thing I consider when choosing whether or not to include pictures of product packaging is if the item has other reviews. If the product has a review already published with photos of the packaging, I generally won't include those pictures to avoid being repetitive.

^ This entirely. I always include pictures of packaging, if there is any. If can help certain people (like those who are want to give the item as a gift) so why not? It's not like one or two pictures that ADD to the review are really that big of a deal that they should "harm it" or be "less useful". If you don't care about the packaging, don't look at the pictures.

Yeah it's nice to see what you get. Packaging really does show the quality of the toy, or the lack of quality.
03/16/2012
only if it's something worth noting
03/16/2012
packaging lets me know how much the company cares. Helps prevent bangs and tears.
03/16/2012
I like them.
03/16/2012
I like them a lot!
03/16/2012
I like them in off-site reviews.
03/16/2012
I like them in instances where there is actually something to see. Showing plastic bags that lingerie comes in is not necessary though.

Yes
03/17/2012
I don't mind seeing them, but I don't need to see them either.
03/17/2012
I like seeing them but it isn't a Have to
03/17/2012
I like them and I put them up if there's no picture of the packaging already.
03/17/2012
Yeah I'm usually curious to see what packaging is like.

Nope, I don't need to see them in reviews, especially if the product page shows the packaging already. If you include them, cool. I usually find the description enough.
03/17/2012
Only if it's note worthy.

I think it is really helpful, but it's not a huge deal. I'm just the type of person who is very visual and has a hard time concentrating on just words, so I include photos in my reviews as well.

When we write reviews; we have the choice between Standard and Extended. If you write the Extended, there is a section for packaging. We should write about it, and there are people who would rather see a picture.
In my opinion, I say, if people add package pictures into their reviews, the review is well rounded. If people do not post packaging pictures, it is a standard review.
There is a difference however from adding a half dozen packaging pictures, from one or two good ones.
I say... if it adds to the review... I'm all for it.
