I tried the extended for the first time, and I really like it!! I feel that it pushes to give better responses and more information. I think that I'm only going to use it from now on.
Which do you prefer: Extended or Standard? (Reviewer)

extended is nice for a lot of things but sometimes shorter is better.

extended - this format usually, depending on the reviewer, gives more useful details.

Third that. And I like how the Extended breaks things down, makes it easy for people to jump to the section they really want to read about, so I feel it lets me write a more informative review by putting things into neat sections.

Extended, definitely. The word limit for standard is much too small.

I prefer the extended since I am known for going over the word count in the standard format for reviews. If it is something that requires a standard format I am going to review it on my blog for now on an link it in to Eden

I picked other. It depends on how the product is and what mood I'm in.
Extended:
good- a grid, helps organization, good for products with lots of things going for it, if I get blocked I can just go back to that box, you can save each box when you are finished then but also go back and edit later
bad- feels like it takes FOREVER due to all the boxes, minimal toys are a pain because you can't talk as much in some boxes, my extended is always longer so I feel like no one reads them.
Standard:
good- open and don't feel pressured to write multiple sentaces in something I could say in a few words, easier to check for errors, less time consuming for me, good for products that doesn't have much to talk about
bad- I will forget things sometimes, the word limit, they are shorter and I only like to put pictures after paragraphs (so less pictures), would not have been an easy format to first start working on

As a reviewer and consumer, I loathe the extended template reviews. I understand they are needed for the product page, for the DR reviews, but in all other instances, they drive me batshit.
I do not want to read about material, cleaning, size info over and over and over and over again. I don't want to have to scroll through thousands of words of filler info that I already know. I want to know how you liked the toy, how it worked for you, what EXTRA info you have for me that isn't already on the product page.
I like blog reviews best of all but, if I can't have that, I prefer the standard. Absolutely.

I like Standard better, but extended seems necessary for a good rating.

It depends on the item and the reviewer. There are some reviewers that write wonderful standard-format reviews that are even more detailed/descriptive than some extended-format reviews.

I personally prefer to write in extended format to make sure I don't leave anything important out.

I like both.
Both have their places. If I am not too sure how or what to say in a review, I'll use the extended. But if I know exactly what I want to say, Ill go for standard.

It's not so much that I prefer one over the other, but that I have to use the standard template, as I write lingerie reviews almost exclusively. There is no choice of extended template for those, so I have my own format that I use. I do sometimes run out of room if it is a particularly detailed review.
05/22/2013
Extended, it's more detailed and organized!
05/22/2013
I always use Extended--I find that I am not nearly as descriptive if I try to do one with Standard, I'll often forget to include necessary details. Extended helps me organize my writing a little better.

Standard gives you more freedom to create your own categories.
05/23/2013
I always use standard, I've never taken to the extended template that well. Though I would like a greater word limit in standard.
05/23/2013
I like a detailed review and when it has pics that's even better

I like the extended reviews, when I'm writing them it helps me remember everything I need to put in it and keep it organized. I like when people use it because it helps me find the information I'm looking for, Stuff that gets written in every single review such as material safety, cleaning, etc. I tend to skip over certain sections when I'm reading since I already know that stuff. Having the information split up like that helps me to skip over information that I don't need.

I agree! I can never fit everything I want to say in the standard format. I like to write nice long reviews.

I like the extended reviews because it helps to easily organize ideas and it feels easier for the users to find certain information they may be looking for.

I just started recently but I prefer to use the extended review. It does take a long while to fill out and check over, but it's rather helpful. The separate boxes for use/material/ect make it easier to organize, and helps to remind me to add any details I would have forgotten in the standard. I do try to use the standard if I'm reviewing something I don't have much to say about, but I still try to follow the extended template even then. Besides, the extended reviews are pleasant for readers as well. The main reason I started using this website is because there's a lot of information and ratings. It's very useful for some items to have a long detailed review about something before you purchase it after all.

The extended has some sections that are very similar. It also depends on the reviewer. Some reviewers do better organizing their own thoughts in the standard while others do better with the extended. It also depends on the product.
