It's always nice to read one with some humor, but I also enjoy the one's where the reviewer's personality really shows through. Cold hard facts only are a bit boring to me.

I like funny but with all the information

I really like funny reviews, but they have to have good information, too!

I like the funny ones but read all.

I love writing funny, informative reviews, as those are my favorite kinds. Not entirely humorous, but quippy is my specialty.
As for the concern that voting isn't set up for funny reviews, but instead for serious, informative reviews, I think most of the members on Eden enjoy reading the funny informative reviews enough that they rate them higher than a stone cold facts review any day.

I feel this way, too. It's not that there aren't funny reviews that ALSO answer my questions, but it's typically in a round-about, meandering kind of way. I don't like for the information I'm looking for to take a backseat to kitsch or anything like that. I'll still commend the reviewer for writing a good review and even rate it highly if I feel that it deserves that. But as far as my personal preference goes, I like when a person can give me the information in a straight-forward but relatively human voice. A little funny thrown in there doesn't hurt, but it's secondary.

If I want funny, I'll watch a comedy special. If you can be funny AND answer all of my questions, then that's a job well done. Otherwise? I'll skip it.

Pretty much what others have said...if you can do it well, then it will be both informative and fun to read. I think you did a great job with the Coochy; lots of information but presented in a humorous manner. Most of the time, I do prefer to read serious reviews on most products, but for a product such as the Coochy, I think the comedy works. Even when I'm reading a serious review, I do like some humor in there. It shows a little bit of the writer's personality.

I had a good time doing the Man Eaters review link, it was one of those items that was just open with possibilities.

I read a review, even if it's long and boring because I want to be sure a product is what will work for ME. I need the meat of the information, but if you can make that funny, then the reading is all the more enjoyable. Thanks for bring up the question.

Funny reviews? Do people really write those? I try to keep mine as clinical as possible

As long as the facts are there, I don't mind being entertained.

My inner twelve year old will always think sex is funny. I giggle at unintentional double entendres. I think 'That's what SHE said' jokes are the height of humour. Hell, I think the word 'dong' is one of the most hilarious words ever.
Make me laugh, and I will your review.

I enjoy a little humor in them.

I like a mixture of funny and factual. It allows me to read the review with more interest and get a glimpse of the person that wrote it so I can relate to the product better.

I appreciate humor in reviews where it is appropriate, and if it is well written or added in. I've seen some funny videos and read some funny reviews that kept me interested, and still did what they were meant to do. As long as it doesn't take away from the information, I think it's great! I can't write much humor in my reviews, but I think people who can are great!

I have tried to add humor to my reviews, but haven't been very successful with it. I like reading humorous reviews as long as all the pertinent information is there as well.

I want information. And if that can be delivered in a fun way... then I'm all for it.

If you can do both, then FANTASTIC, but funny by itself doesn't make a review.
Worst is when someone is trying to write a review and forcing the funny. I see them in my head with The Hoss being held as a dueling sword telling me... you will laugh!!!
