"Useful," to me, just means that it was an overall good review but didn't go the extra mile, didn't include quite enough detail, maybe didn't give any new/unique information about the toy.
How do you view "Useful" votes on a review?

Generally positive, though I do wonder how I could have improved. Still, can't please everyone.

When I get a "useful" vote it does make me wonder what else I should have added. I don't consider it a bad vote but not necessarily a good vote either.

Personally, I see "useful" as "I read something that helped me, but the review wasn't great."

I vote EU for reviews that are just fantastic and I don't have any questions about the product when I am done reading it. These are the reviews that you can tell the reviewer went the extra mile.
I vote useful on the reviews that are good but that did not go the extra mile or did cover everything I wanted to know.

Sometimes if I have 20 extremely useful and only 1 useful vote, it irks me. It seems that some just can't give credit where credit is due!

I view it mostly as a positive for a good review. The perfectionist in me though wonders what I could have done to make it an extremely useful review!

Although I love, love, love *constructive* criticism (not "You could have done better"), I am a bit of a perfectionist and really want to see EUs. Right now they are a mixed bag on my reviews. Like many others here, when I see Us, I wonder what I possibly could have done to be better! In one of my recent reviews, I tested the product in every conceivable way, had pictures, proper grammar and everything. I was so proud! But it was still half EUs and half Us.
I loved reading this thread because it really allowed me to settle down about my reviews. I've now realized that no matter how much you put in, someone will think you've not added enough or too much, or not answered a question they had. There's nothing wrong with Us. As long as the vote is honest, I'm good with that.

Still a very good review.

I find useful good to be positive vote, but if the person comments with "thanks, great review!" and does not tell me what they would have liked to see in the review, it upsets me.

This sounds so entitled to me. "Credit is due?" It's not about credit. It's not about effort. It's about usefulness. Maybe those 20 voters just have different expectations? Maybe there was one thing that 20 other people didn't consider but that you missed and one person noticed.

I think it is a vote saying 'needs improvement'. I typically give and EU for a good review.

I have no issue with extremely useful or useful

I vote useful if their were questions about the product i had that werent really answered or if it lacked a bit more detail, also sometimes i vote useful if their are no images but that depends on the product.

I rate reviews better when they're very thorough and talk about everything there could be to talk about the product, and perhaps answer a question or two I had. Ones that just gloat that it's great I tend to ignore and not vote on at all. I don't like voting things down, it makes me feel mean. XD

A positive vote for a good review.
