I've never seen it written as dildoes
Dildoes or Dildos?

Those "eos" plurals are usually optional and have gone out of fashion with most words.

"Dildoes" looks a little odd, but it's acceptable. I prefer "dildos." My computer sees "dildoes" as an error, but the spellchecker isn't 100% accurate (usually it is, but not always).

It kinda looks funny with the "e".

I use "dildos".
02/24/2012
I have only heard dildos.

Definitely dildos. Then again, I apparently always misspell tornadoes, because I spell it tornados...
02/24/2012
Dildos.

I say unless you are being graded on it! Screw it! haha

Dildos

I think no matter how you spell it someone will know what you are talking about
02/25/2012
Dildos.
02/25/2012
I thought dildos. Idk.
02/25/2012
I would always leave out the "e"

I think the second is correct, I really don't recall seeing the 'e' that frequently.

I have been wondering which spelling was correct ever since I created that wishlist, which I titled "Dildoes". Now, after seeing it all over EF as "dildos", my wishlist title looks funny to me.
The reason the "e" is added to tomatoes, potatoes, tornadoes, etc., is for phonetic purposes: using the common rules of our language (which, it's true, are broken all the time), "tomatos" would be pronounced with a short "o" at the end, and probably a different emphasis as well. So, technically, it would be more phonetically correct to use the "e" for "dildoes" as well. But I'm pretty well sold on the way "dildos" looks to me, now.

I spell it as dildos. I don't think I've ever seen someone use "dildoes".

Oooh, another good example of "oes": volcanoes.
