If the relationship is emotionally satisfying and there is open communication then not being sexually satisfied would more often then not be a temporary problem as you work out the kinks as it were.

Right now I'm single with no real prospects so my first choice isn't very viable. I'd rather have the confidence and sexual fulfillment of satisfying my own needs alone. If I was with someone but not completely fulfilled.. i don't think it'd matter.

If I'm looking for sexual satisfaction, then yes, I'd much rather be with myself than fumble around with someone sub-par. I've done that, and it wasn't that much fun for me (though he seemed quite content.)

Stimulating company is another matter entirely. I'd rather be with someone interesting than be on my own most days, but I'd rather be alone than bored and with someone else.

I agree, and I'd add that sexual and emotional satisfaction often go hand in hand for me. I'll be a lot more forgiving of a partner who's not particularly skilled, but who I like. So my answer to this poll is that I'd rather be alone with a toy, because if I'm not having fun with the partner, I probably don't like them that much.
