He doesn't buy me flowers but I tell him not to, I'd rather have some cuddling then flowers
Does your man buy you flowers "just because"?

When we were first dating, my husband would buy me flowers but he's since learned that I'd prefer him to buy me a bush that I can plant so I can have flowers all spring or summer long.

He hardly ever buys me anything "just because" or when we're fighting. I sometimes get flowers for special occasions, but that's it.

I have to keep telling my husband to NOT buy me plants. A plant says, "Here; here's some work and something you have to then keep alive or feel guilty about if it dies." UG. A gift should never imply work! (Unless it's kitchen stuff, cooking is fun for me.) It's like giving someone an iron.
I'd much rather have flowers to put in a vase. It looks so pretty and it reminds me he loves me.
I like plants while we are planting the garden, but not any other time. I HATE those little tiny roses. I keep killing them (he gives them to me for my birthday..... in January, and they die before the ground thaws, even if they get into the ground, they are the wrong kind of roses for our weather and for our soil) but he keeps giving them to me. Roses in a vase, or wrapped up and I'll put them in a vase is preferable.
Life is hard. If every gift I ever got or wanted was only "practical" I'd lead a dull existence.
Cut flowers are short lived, but filled with joy! In fact, the precise fact that they are short lived adds to their beauty.

I've been with my boyfriend for almost a year now and he's only bought me flowers once (Valentine's Day). I've dropped a few hints about wanting them at other times but he didn't get it Lol

I've never gotten flowers. Maybe I'm not stating clearly enough that I'd like him to get me some. At least for special occasions like my birthday or our anniversary.

He's always given me flowers "just because" and it always makes me feel special. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Lol. How about you?

When we first got together, he only bought flowers on holidays and birthdays. Then it was just because.
Now, he buys flowers whenever he feels like it. He usually buys me orchids - my favorite - because they live longer and he likes them as well.
I've never received flowers from him because of fighting. I won't let him leave the house if we're arguing. Nor will we allow ourselves to go to sleep angry with each other. It's unhealthy.

I def like to surprise my love with flowers or something special from time to time. I think it's sad when someone says they don't want flowers because they will just die soon anyway. You can buy potted flowers if you think they die too quickly. Any flowers are aesthetically pleasing and can bring some joy into your day. Yes they are transient but they can be a nice visual decoration and give off a pleasing aroma while they last and little things in life like that make like a little more worth living.

He never buys me flowers which is fine by me. I don't really care for something that is just going to die anyway. Sometimes he will buy me a live plant (which I love). I killed my mini roses though LOL
