Ever written a song/poem for your lover?

(Verse 1&2)
Come away with me and I'll show you what true love is,
How to see it, and how to feel it.
'Cause I'd be lost without you by my side,
My darkest fear is you not being here.
(Chorus)
I can't picture myself without you,
Even if I could,
Why would I want to?
And I find myself sayin' everyday,
'I love you'
'In every single way.'
(Verse 3)
Like a light in the darkness, you showed me the way.
and you gave me more love,
Than any other ever gave.
(Repeat Verse 1 through Chorus)
Written and played on guitar for my wife
Come away with me and I'll show you what true love is,
How to see it, and how to feel it.
'Cause I'd be lost without you by my side,
My darkest fear is you not being here.

I haven't written one, but I do love poetry -- and songs are basically poetry set to music. I might consider writing one . . .
The song you wrote for your wife is very, very sweet. I'm sure she loves it when you sing it for her! Thanks for sharing.

oooops I selected the wrong option
We write silly haikus for each other all the time. They aren't usually romantic, but just goofy little things that we don't take very seriously and they are easy to write because they are so short.
here's the last one I wrote for him
It is your birthday
celebrate your unwombing
farewell uterus

I also write songs but not the love type.
Ok, that's a lie. I have written some about lost love etc..

Sure I have:
Hide Inside Myself
Should've put up a stronger shield,
Should've built higher walls,
Should've crossed my heart,
And hoped to die.
Should've never trusted you.
Break down my walls,
Tear them apart and leave
The wreckage of my heart
In a bloody mess
On the ground
In the dirt.
You Wear a Mask
I thought that I loved you,
Thought that what I felt for you was love.
But it was pain;
Twisted, tainted,
Pain.
You never loved me,
I never loved you too.
We stayed up at night,
Looking at the stars on top of my car,
After making love, breathing heavily.
It was always me left breathless,
Never you.
Never again.
Should I apologize for my hate?
Probably.
I resent you too, though.
My distaste put on a venetian mask,
Danced in circles on a wooden ballroom floor,
Made me think it was something called "love."
But a porcelain doll doesn't feel.
She only breaks when you hold her too tight.
Oh, you expected it to be nice? Shit. Whoops.
Hide Inside Myself
Should've put up a stronger shield,
Should've built higher walls,
Should've crossed my heart,
And hoped to die.
Should've never trusted you.

I've never written a poem or song for anyone. I'm not creative. Like, at all. I did recently write a list of things I love about my boyfriend for his birthday. I know it's kind of a played out idea, but it was from the heart and he liked it.

Yes, I have written a number of poems in the past. I use to have them up on poetry.com

This is called Adorare - Latin for "to pray," a reference to the dual meaning of adore, to love, but also to worship.
I do not need salvation
Nor absolution for my sin
But I crave the holy blessing
The communion of your skin
Kneeling at your altar
A prayer from my lips
I bow my head in reverence
My hands upon your hips
At the hallowed halls of your thighs
A prayer from a devotee
I am a disciple of your body
And a prophet of ecstasy
I do not need salvation
Nor absolution for my sin
But I crave the holy blessing
The communion of your skin
Kneeling at your altar
A prayer from my lips
I bow my head in reverence
My hands upon your hips
At the hallowed halls of your thighs
A prayer from a devotee
I am a disciple of your body
And a prophet of ecstasy

Here is something I wrote this summer..
Hey Jane, how was the weather today?
From the colour of your eyes,
I'm guessin' it was a hurricane.
Plain Jane, what did you have for dinner tonight?
You're all skin and bones darlin',
It's quite the frightful sight.
Little Jane, do you remember playing that day?
He said it would be fun,
But games aren't supposed to cause pain.
Oh Jane Doe, there was just too much sorrow.
A shame for this world,
That you will know no tomorrow.

I tend to write in the moment though like this one for my Son:
The plan was fuzzy at best,
A love that couldn't resist,
Unplanned though you were
You completed something we thought was finished.
When it all came into focus you yawned sleepily and fell asleep in your Daddy's arms.

Every person I have fallen in love with has gotten at least one poem. Often more than one. Of course, I'm a performance poet, so if I were to post a piece here, it would have to be a video, or audio.

Not really for a lover, but in 6th grade, probably the first week or two of school I thought this girl in my homeroom was amazingly beautiful and I wrote the sappiest love poem and slid it into her locker. I didn't sign it and never told her it was me but did hear her mention it years later.
