I went to movies with boys from next door at age 12 or so, but the theater was all of a block and a half away and it was in a neighborhood where EVERYONE knew us. Very safe. So was it really a "date"? I guess so...but in the ultimate "G" rated version. Rarely even involved holding hands..and surely no "kissing". It was more "hanging out with a boy friend" at that age...although it was "one on one".

I was 12 and we had just ended the school year when a former classmate called and asked if I wanted to go see a movie. Mom approved and we went to see The Shadow. My next date after that was in high school.

My husband and I still date each other; two to three times a week we set aside evenings where we try to focus on us and our relationship.

14, after the first few dates my mom let him move in...he was 18. About a year later I had my oldest son. Needless to say he moved on, I met my husband a few months before my son was born and we've been together ever since.

Unless you count a play-boyfriend I had as a kid (we were both like five years old), it was sometime after eighth grade... I was fourteen or fifteen, I think. A girl I'd known for a few years asked me out and we went to the Franklin Institute - which I was really excited to see again after so many years, but it wound up being a pretty boring day altogether.

Didn't really get anywhere beyond that - most of our time together was extremely awkward, as neither of us was really good at conversation and we wound up spending a lot of time sitting silently in the living room, not doing anything.
