Um, I got you beat. I didn't start dating until after I separated from my ex at 32. My ex-husband and I never dated - he proposed to me three days after we met online. I never dated in school because boys considered me too fat and ugly to be seen with. FWB's kept me a secret. My marriage was celibate.

And I'm expected to have confidence to date in my 30's? Tell me more ...

I never really dated that much until I met my husband. Before that it was usually just sex. I didn't care about the rest. He use to take me on dates, but doesn't anymore.

Well I didn't even start taking interest in boys until I was about 14 and didn't go on a date until I was 15.

I tried 'dating' at 19 but it was mostly just hanging out and playing video games. I didn't have a real date date until I was 21 and actually went out to dinner with my then bf, now ex. Wasn't really allowed to date growing up.

Fourteen, we went to see a movie. We didn't kiss until after I'd turned fifteen, though, our first few dates were ridiculously shy and chaste.

I'm sorry to hear about your trouble with boys in school. That's horrible. I had the same kinds of trouble in school, which is a big reason why I have trouble.
Your marriage, too, must have been very difficult. Congratulations for getting out of that relationship and getting on a path to making yourself happy.

I was just turning 16 and my Mother was perfectly ok with the idea of me going to see a movie with Sigel...Sigel had come to the house and asked if it would be ok and everything. My Dad, however, tried to put his foot down and say I was too young but my Mom was all, "EXCUSE YOU? I said she could go and I am her MOTHER! You weren't there and he's a nice young man...so she's going!"
My father objected to the look on my face when I saw Sigel....apparently it was kinda obvious I was totally infatuated. It's hard for a Daddy to see that look on his baby's face. He saw that look on my Mom's face way back when and knew what it meant.

Still, it did give me a cute story to tell my kids and it all worked out pretty damn awesomely.

I wasn't allowed to go out and date until I was 16. I had boys come over to my house before that. I think the first boy that kissed me was around 14 or so. He kissed me in my parents pool table room. I met a boy who was a friend of my friend when she lived in Little Rock and he came down for her birthday party and we all spent the night and we became long distance bf-gf at 15 and talked on the phone every few days and sent each other letters in the mail (this was before email). We never did kiss that night.
