Ever Gave/Received Flowers Within a Relationship? *Good One*

My parents owned a flower shop for 15 years so flowers weren't particularly exciting for a long time. It is nice to get them as a surprise now and then, though.

Yes, I've received roses. I put that I don't care. Don't get me wrong--I love flowers and think it's a really sweet gesture, but it's not like a requirement for my relationships or anything like that.

i had a friend show up at the club that i work at with flowers the other day after i had been having a very hard time. it was very sweet of him and it was flowers that i'm actually not allergic to. my husband doesn't do that because i know that i have trouble with most flowers.

I don't like flowers. I think they're cheesy. I'd rather he put that money towards a nice night out for us.

I used to not like receiving flowers because they die within the week. But my last boyfriend gave me a few bouquets during our time together, and they were really memorable.

I think it's important to give flowers with personality, instead of just standard roses or whatever you think you're supposed to give. The sunflowers I received from him were my favorite.

Not so often anymore. I like to grow them so mostly if I'm getting flowers it's for my flower beds unless Hubby is cutting from them which he does lol

Alan gives me flowers every anniversary, but our agreement is rather odd. The rule is, if he brings me flowers they need to have a root ball attached. That way I can plant them outside and enjoy them for as long as we live in that house instead of having the flowers die within a week.

I have given them and I get them. My husband forgot our fifth years anniversary, so to teach him a lesson, I gave him a box of long stemmed red roses delivered to his office (supposed to have been delivered by a gorgeous woman in a formal gown, she happened to be sick that day, so a man in a tux delivered them instead. Kinda funny, since all the guys in his office were making fun of him and wanted to know who his boyfriend was.)

Yes getting flowers from him means a lot to me because it tells me he was thinking about me and put effort into picking out something I would enjoy. I love fresh flowers in the house, but when they are from him they are much more special every time I smell them!

I like flowers, but I'm the kinda girl that would rather you spend that money on something that will last longer than a dozen roses. If you wanna get me flowers, get me a single rose and give me the rest of what you would have spent on a dozen in a gift card or something so I can get something that will last and I can cherish.

A single one is nice and simple. Yeah, I think I also prefer a smaller number of flowers (1-3) that look or smell nice than a huge one.

To me, seeing my man hand me a single rose is so much sexier than seeing him walking in with a huge bouquet of them.

I have received flowers on a number of occasions but they are wasted on me. A bunch of bought flowers means nothing except that he is willing to throw his money away! It also makes me wonder if he is secretly sorry for something - I'm too suspicious.

Now, if a guy was to pick some wild flowers - even just one - I would LOVE and so appreciate the thought

The first bouget of roses I ever received was from my mom whne I graduted from elementary school.

The first bouquet of flowers I bought was probably for my mom. She is a crazy flower lady. My bf bought me 3 roses on our 2nd valentines together. It was so sweet of him but I told him to never do it again. I find it way too expensive and they die eventually...I'd much rather he spend his money on something like a nice dinner/evening that we can reminesce years later.

I've gotten them from several partners before, but never given them. I'm not that big on them.

I've gotten them. It's nice, but I can't help to think that it's kind of a waste of money. *shrugs*

I've gotten flowers before, and it was ok I guess, but I'd rather have something I'm not potentially allergic to, and will last a bit longer (or be more useful). I guess what I'm saying is that I'd rather have a nice vibrator than flowers that will die after a few days.

I have gotten lots of flowers before. He thinks flowers are too girly to be given to him, so I made him some out of duct tape for valentines day. Much more manly!

I love to get flowers and press them, and I even more delight in getting live plants for my windowsill BUT I do think they're silly and would rather have chocolate haha

I like to receive flowers and I think it is great to give them. But it doesn't have to be flowers; any thoughtful gesture is greatly appreciated and I do the same. Spontaneity is the best !

When we were still dating my husband gave me flowers a few times for birthdays/holidays. It always makes me happy, though I'd think it would be the most romantic if he showed up with flowers on just a random day.

Received, and I was very happy for it. He got me a hydrangea plant that bloomed for weeks and is my favorite flower.

My current relationship has left me flowerless. And I care!

I have received roses before, and I like flowers. They make me smile. It's not a HUGE deal, but it's something that's sweet and nice and caring...
