I go by looks, what has worked for me in the past and the reviews.

How many of you research a product before you purchase it?

Looks generally are what get me interested, and then the reviews sell me on whether the product will actually work for me or not.

If I like the look of something then I investigate more and read the reviews. I have a lot on my wish lists, so I order frequently but I have probably been looking at a product for at least a few weeks before I get it.

Buy by positive reviews. It helps if it's appealing to the eye.

I definitely like to read the reviews if it is a higher priced item.

Pretty much everything I buy is researched first. If I'm looking at something in a store, I will go home and check out reviews and product information before deciding to buy it. While I don't completely base my interest off of reviews, they play a huge part in it.

Looks get me interested in the first place, but after that I base it on a combinations of looks, reviews, and price. There are so many things I want to try so I often agonize of my purchases for days before making a decision.

The main reason I love this community so much is because of all the honest reviews, they really help my make my own decisions.

I do obviously have to like how it looks, and then by its material safety, performance levels (vrooms/bees), then power-type (what kind of battery, rechargeable, electric).
Then I definitely take a look at the reviews... alll of the reviews...
Of course, I do put cost into consideration as well. But if I really really want it, then I'll save up for it.

Mostly the reviews but also I think deeply about how it would suit me etc..

I like to do a lot of research before I buy. I start out attracted to the look of a product. It gets my attention. Then I check out the size, to see if it's even possible for me to use it. Once I've decide that is is I move on to the material. If it looks like something I'd use I look at reviews. I look at the good and bad they present, and decide if the problems are something I can live with or not.
I've seen a lot of products that the reviews have made me reconsider purchasing, but just as many where I figured I could compromise on the downsides and bought the product anyway. If every thing else looks good, and the reviews don't give particularly compelling reasons not to buy, I typically will.
I also like to shop around the different lines, check out comparable products and whatnot. I feel like If I'm spending my money on something I want to make sure I'm getting something I'll like.

I research a lot, that's what brought me here in the first place

I like to read a lot of the reviews especially ones with a follow up. If I'm going to shell out a bunch of money for a product I want to make sure it's not going to die after a month.

I ALWAYS research and read any and all reviews/information on a product before I buy it. Even if it's a pair of panties, I always read. Sometimes, I can look at somethign and know if it's my preference and rarely if the majority of reviews are good and if the people reviewing are ones I trust, then I'll go ahead. I don't buy only on appearance. Learned the hard way! Also, I do take price into consideration. I'm a huge cheapie so I tend to try and go for the less pricey, but still good.

While we look at things, we definitely rely on research before buying. This is not just toys, but other stuff as well if we are not already familiar with the product. Reviews for toys here are invaluable. Unless something is largely rated 4 or 5 by almost all who reviewed we are not likely to buy it.

I go buy looks first and then if it entices me, I'll read reviews. The reviews are what really helps make my decision though.

I tend to go by reviews mostly.

i think the reviews are most important

It needs to look good, of course, for me, but mainly I go by extensive research and asking my friends on which they'd prefer.

I do tons of research. I'll start at EF and then hit the Googles to find out what others think.

Typically the more it costs, the more I'll research to decide if I want it or not. That's one of the reasons I like this site so much, because that process is so much easier to do!

A mix of looks and reviews. If I hate how something looks (hello Patchy Paul) then I don't get it because I'd never use it. Also, I'm getting a better feel for what shapes work for me.
Checking reviews is just common sense.

I usually read all the reviews before buying a product.

I consider a lot when purchasing a toy. I think about whether the design resembles anything that worked well or horribly for me in the past. I consider the reviews about the performance of the toy. I need something with a little more power if reviews state the vibrations are weak, then I'm going to pass on the toy. I also consider whether the price of the toy is justifiable.

I try and learn as much as I can about a product as far as how it might feel or smell etc before I make a decision. I've been lucky so far.

I go by looks and sometimes on the recommendations of my daughter

I usually read several reviews of a toy before I buy it, unless it's something on sale that looks interesting and is cheap. But I usually spend a lot (of points) when I do finally place an order, so I like to make sure I'm getting something I'll like.

I read the reviews and have standards as to what materials are acceptable to me.

I always read the reviews first! I wanna make sure I am buying a good product and not just wasting my money on something that won't work for me!
