In Dallas texas, it is technically illegal to own more than 6 sex toys
Have you heard about this?

There are so many ridiculous laws out there. Seriously, who comes up with some of that crap?

I have never heard that before. I live in MA and tattoos were illegal here for the longest time, so I believe it.

In this thread I would like to open a discussion about it, just to initiate some interesting exchange of thoughts, other than the "yeah, it's crazy", "I don't agree with those laws too", with some more detailed comments on what you think about it, and to try to go around it from many points of views...
So ladies and gentlemen, anybody who hasn't heard about it before? less

question, why can't 'minors' use toys on their own? cause minor is pretty much under 18. I'd rather they use a vibe because of sexual curiosity than go have sex.

NO WAY!
(runs to google)
O.k for once my state is not being a total d-bag, I can have them.

I do think that's silly, but that's how things are sometimes. You think sexual freedom between two consenting adults or even just one adult alone shouldn't be an issue, but it is. I don't see that changing either.
10/13/2012
I already knew about it and think it's ridiculous
10/13/2012
How sad! And ridiculous.
10/13/2012
Heh, I find it silly that people ban sex toys. It seems that the people most likely to rail against them are the people most likely to take them to extreme.
10/13/2012
yes ive heard of it
10/14/2012
Those states should sell SEX TOOLS! Work it out!

Yeah, I know about it. It's silly, but then again I live in a dry parish where I can't buy liquor on Sundays.
10/25/2012
I've known about this kind of thing for a while now, though it never ceases to make me laugh when I hear about it.

Yes, my wife worked for an adult toy company for a while. That's why Indiana and Alabama sell adult "novelties" instead of toys or have you say that you're not using it in an illegal manner. It's a simple loophole and sometimes you have to sign a paper at checkout that says you'll only use it for medical, scientific, educational, legislative, judicial or law enforcement purposes.

oh wait more fun sex law facts. You can't have sex in your bedroom if your baby is in there, does not matter the kids age or if they are asleep. Yet your kids can't be unsupervised, I asked, so you need to get a baby sitter. Also if they want to be butt heads they can get you for licking food off of each other or anything else they deem sexual in front of children.
I got pulled over for wearing a bra instead of a shirt during a hot day but was told I could wear a swim top even a string bikini........
Can't import sex implements/toys so made in other countries ship them as children toys. Then there are still some old interracial laws hanging around >_<. Then holding hands was a no no in one of the states but I forgot which. Public displays being outlawed is common. Guess the silliest I remember hearing about was the length of the skirt law.
Company "Romance" reps can not do demos at all with men, drags, tyrannies etc. else it's considered prostitution. so no mix parties. I forgot to ask if they could have male reps..... I'm going to guess they have to allow men but they can't do demos to females. less

The answer is that someone decided something would go wrong and decided to ban everything.

Ok this would explain why people are so pissed off all the time. I think it is stupid and they need to focus on other things besides whether or not someone has a vibrator or not. its ridiculous. What charges can be pressed for masturbating. its dumb af. what about drug dealers, child molesters, rapists? their priorities are fucked up if they are concerned about sex toys.

Cat E.
I didn't know about it.
02/16/2013
That's crazy. How does using a toy in your own bedroom (probably by yourself) promote promiscuity?
03/10/2013
that's just wrong.
03/30/2013
Hmm couldn't live without them haha
05/08/2013
I had never heard of this law. Interesting article especially the fellow's comment that sex toys are illegal because of their danger of killing someone. Perhaps he could run for office and his slogan could be "People don't kill people, dildos kill people". Unfortunately there is no cure for stupid.
