Hate guns.
Your take on guns?

I like guns for responsible ownership and use, but I don't own any. I'd rather good people have guns to protect themselves, instead of only criminals having guns.

I would rather advocate weapons that DON'T destroy your opponent. Like, a taser that paralyzed or pepper spray that worked perfectly. If you shoot a home invader, they're dead, they're never going to pay for what they've done, and then it's on you. Taser them til they piss their pants, and you didn't have to deal with the moral dilemma of a dead body in your living room.

I believe a great many Americans are not "afraid of them", nor into "filling their basements", but simply want, or need, to have one for self defense. We live in a very increasingly dangerous country and by the time a good, law abiding citizen can call the police and get a response....well, most crimes are long ago "over". A gun is a tool. Pure and simple. Can be used for good or bad. In an honest persons hands, it will never do a bad thing to anyone.

Yes, a gun can be viewed as a tool. But unlike any other tool, it's specifically designed to kill at a distance. Mishandled, it's more likely to cause death or serious injury. Thousands of "honest" people are injured in firearms accidents each year in the US.
Don't get me wrong--I'm in favor of the individual's right to own guns--but the "dangerous world" argument isn't based on reality.

Actually, big magazines make a BIG difference in mass shootings. Several killers have been stopped while pausing to reload. Who knows how many fewer kids would have died at Newtown if the kid hadn't been able to shoot 30 times without a pause.

once again, we do not have assault weapons per the definition by the DOD. Extended magazines do not make a difference, it only takes a second to change out a magazine.
I recently heard a panel of law enforcement experts discuss this at length and, although they disagreed about a lot of things, they were all in favor of banning large-capacity magazines for civilian use. And for closing the loopholes that currently allow people to bypass background checks in some states.
I think there's a lot less evidence for banning so-called assault weapons, but nobody needs a big clip outside of law enforcement or the military, IMO, and nobody should be able to buy guns without a background check.

Currently, I don't love guns, and I don't hate guns. I am a Crim Just major (with my AS already), so I will probably eventually own a gun, but I don't hunt or go to the shooting range for fun. That's just not my personality. To each his/her own though.

As a foreigner I admit that it is hard for me to understand America's obsession with guns.

The right to bear arms is very important to me. What I don't understand is the automatic rifles...when you have guns more powerful than our military--I don't get it. But hey, you hunt with a rifle not an ak47. The best protection a gun can provide is acting as a deterrent.

Where is the option that I don't own funds but don't mind if people have them with some restrictions?

I happen to have quite a few guns, which are locked in my vault at this very moment. Most of what I have are hunting rifles and shotguns. I also have one semi-automatic pistol. Any ammunition I have is kept on the opposite side of my house. If I had an armed burglary occur at my house, I would be defenseless.

The guns I have don't get used anymore. But, at one time, I did enjoy going to the shooting range for trap and skeet. I also enjoyed taking my Vizsla with me to hunt for pheasant and quail. I would walk and enjoy, just watching my dog do what came natural to her. It was icing on the cake when she locked up on point. Oh, and having roasted quail at the time wasn’t bad either.
I am not an NRA member, and I fully support universal background checks. Additionally, I don’t feel anyone has a need for tactical weapons, or large clips.

I personally own almost 10 guns, so it's needless to say that I love guns. I am pro 2nd amendment but I do agree that background checks aren't such a bad idea. I don't own an AR (but I plan on buying one in the future) they are fun to shoot.

I don't like guns...unless they're a man's arms, and then I love me some guns...*coughs* but that's off topic.
