I used to be so insane about my claws when I was younger. I'd paint them almost every day, and they were really long. A lot of girls kept accusing me of having fake nails. I'm not so nuts now. I've got too much to take care of to worry about that, and most nail polish is pretty toxic.

As a male my nails are normally not to long, yet filed and cleaned daily.

Oh yay I got a lot of responses! Thanks everyone. I'm like most of you. I used to buy those files you could use to smooth the surface of the nail and get it shiny but I've kind of given up, lol.

I have a really bad habbit of biteing my nails .
If I don'tbite on them for a couple weeks I will ether go to walmart and by some fake nails, or go do it professionaly.

Painting my nails is one of the few things I get to do for myself. I don't like them bare. I have those weird white calcium marks and they are really brittle and split.

I clean them thoroughly multiple times a day and also trim and file them at least weekly. I'm a neat freak and mysophobe, and having dirt under my nails really disgusts me.

I keep mine clean and filed, and if I am feeling especially femme, I put nail polish on them too.

They get in the way. I keep them very taken care of, but I also keep em' painted so that's something I have to do almost every 2 days because when I'm painting/designing nails for my customers, the paint gets all over my own and ruins them! Lol

I usually just keep them clean and neatly filed. Sometimes I paint them, but that's not all too often because it chips off within a week because of my job.
