The whole "object you love vs. a person you love" thing... There's a difference between being truly objectsexual and "loving" an item. I don't think it's appropriate to take an item you like to prom, it's not really proving a point, it's just being public about your sex life. If they mean keeping them in their purses or inserted, whatever, that's their business, but to publicly display it, no, I'm not supportive of the idea.
Would you take a vibrator to prom?

Sure!

Would you say go for it, or say no way?
For a little more info, just to be clear, they tried to go as a couple and was shut down last year. The one girls parents are my best friends and have been fighting same sex marriage for years now. They have dealt with a lot of sterotypes and back lash because of there situation. Just so you know there not doing it to be jack asses, there doing to prove a point. Which in there eyes is
"If you can't go with a person of the same sex you love, why not an inanimate object that you also love." less

It would be funny to see a vibrator in a tux at a prom but, alas, I think it would only get them in trouble and kicked out instead of making any sort of statement.

Agreed, what if it went off in your purse? uh oh, better pray you can play it off like a vibrating phone at that point and fumble around in your purse w/o anyone noticing. Yikes! Or what if someone when in your purse for something and found it, or your purse got knocked over and it rolled out! Omg just thinking about these situations are making me feel anxious. >o<

There are more constructive ways of proving a point without being passive-aggressive. Prom is not a huge deal and will mean nothing by the following week.
Besides, I consider it tacky to take toys out in public.

Does not sound like a smart idea at all.

Eh, I boycotted my prom altogether, and I don't feel at all like I missed anything other than an uncomfortable waste of money. So, I have a hard time understanding why it's such a big deal for some people.
