I'm never really on my FB, so I don't really unfriend people.

Extremely major betrayal or radical change in personality/beliefs that would make the friendship pointless. I never actually unfriend - I've been unfriended more because others assumed I was thinking something and acting on their assumption (example: that I was intentionally harassing someone in a silly "pick the first ten people from your chat list" meme, that I was talking bad about someone to their boyfriend when their boyfriend was asking me about how girls think in general because he was clueless in dealing with them, that I wasn't "awake and aware" because I said Sarah Palin ruined the Sexy Secretary Look for the rest of us, etc).

I see no point in taking them back, as they've demonstrated their lack of loyalty to me when I've given them all my loyalty.

I don't unfriend unless it is something horrible that they say or post

Incessant postings back to back to back every single day ranting about their vague personal problems in life will make me drop someone. Drives me nuts.

To make a point, but it usually takes quite a bit for me to drop them! This one guy added me, messaged me every day annoying me even when I didn't respond, and then bragged to everyone that I added him and kept messaging him. So I unfriended him.

Excessive Douchebaggery and Dumbfuckery.

Douchebaggery and Dumbfuckery include: Hitting on friend's significant others, hate speech, ridiculously horrible grammar, starting arguments, sucking at life, duckface, posting horrid photography and telling everyone I "taught you everything I know" (when all I did was show you how to let the camera focus), and being a creeper.

This list is subject to change and evolve over time without notice.

It depends on why I friended them in the first place, people I added just for apps and the like, I would have no trouble unfriending as long as I had a decent reason (like spamming my wall with craptastic "click here to win an iPad" kind of posts).

But people I actually know and family will most likely never get unfriended.

Being that mostly it's family and close friends on my Facebook I don't have the habit of unfriending on there. More often than not I'll "unlike" a page if I don't like the posts made by it anymore.

Religion, Politica, Incessant chatter about your children, never talking to me one-on-one anymore. Any single one of these things is enough for me to drop a person with no hesitation. My facebook is for CLOSE friends, not simply acquaintances.

For me, it's usually overly religious posts that bash people through beliefs. I just can't put up with that.

I go through my friends list and delete people every few months. It's usually people who I never hear from or who I find to be excessively annoying.

I've started cleaning out my friends list. I used to play all the games and since I quit them, I don't hear from or talk to a lot of my friends. So, when it is their birthday, if I don't really know them, I wish them happy birthday and then unfriend them. Nothing personal, just cleaning out the list!

The only person I've ever unfriended kind of went off the deep end and started posting daily rants about survivalism. That was fine and good and I wouldn't have unfriended them then, but when I they started trying to turn my posts until survivalist rants I decided to pull the trigger.

I've unfriended just a few. Mostly it is because everything they say/do annoys the crap out of me.

I'll unfriend people when we don't talk much any longer. There are a few people I'll always have on my list, but there are several that disappear when the mood strikes.

I agree. The political talk and religious talk are just too much for me.
