If you're intending to want to store this long-term and possibly show other people portions of it, it may be easier to start a private blog or livejournal, or simply a word document to type into and save one document per day or week or month in a file that you could keep on a flash drive. That way you never have to worry about losing it.

I don't do it so much anymore, but I really love the immediacy of low tech. Pen and paper are very sexy. Also great for keeping a dream journal by your bed.

I use my datebook as a journal. The daunting task of filling out a whole page always bothered me with real diaries, so I just use the two inch space for each date to write the highlights of the day.

I tossed out all of my junior high and high school diaries ... I was talking about suicide every other entry and the other entries dealt with how I was being tormented by my 'peers'. How depressing.

I miss mine terribly. I still write in a diary, but not nearly as much. I destroyed many of mine from when I was younger. They contained a lot of painful memories that I never want to relive. One of my journals was even offered to be published by a friend who worked as a publishing company. It was the one I destroyed first.

Just a regular ball point pen. Even though they're cheap, the Pilot stick pens that come in packs of a dozen work very well, don't bleed, and don't fade.

I used to, but people kept taking it and reading it (more when i had step brothers) so I stopped writing in them altogether. Hell I got in trouble for writing how much I disliked one of my step brothers, his mom went batshit on me. As if she was supposed to know anyway!

ya I don't get why if someone gossips and tells people something personal the person told should just be like "none of my business" or just ignore it. Like your not allowed to have likes and dislikes or an opinion?

I have a simple diary program on my computer. Unfortunately I forget to write in it most of the time. But occasionally I will if I have something I want to remember. Or if I'm having trouble writing, I will start there to get the juices flowing.

I used to. I started when I was about 10 and wrote in them until I was about 25. I still have them stored away. Most are Sanrio diaries too because they are so darn cute and I loved the rainbow colored pastel pages.

do you have your own computer? There is a diary thinkg you stick into your computer that is password protected you type and save it all on there..I think it would be great to look back on wat you wrote years later. its small you could fit it into your pocket, wallet in a bra or somethin.

omg I remebered something there is a free online diary password protected that you type in..the only thing it does is send your password to your email if u forget and reminds you that u have a diary on the site once in a while.

LOL I have a few diaries. I have my blog that's linked to on my profile here, I have another online gratitude journal, then I have a couple paper journals for spiritual purposes as well

For things to last longest you want both paper and ink that's acid free, and lignin free. Then it won't yellow, fade or anything like that. (Former scrapbooker here LOL)

Yeah but have my computer passworded would make my dad suspicious because it used to be and he got really pissed about it. Hell I had to install my own doorknob with a lock but... I'm not allowed to lock it. Go figure.

I will be 23 tomorrow. And I only have a father. I just don't trust writing things down really much, online less so when it comes to things like diaries. Plus I'm terrible at keeping up a schedule to write in such things as well.

If dad knew I was on Eden (or any other toy sites)or owned toys he'd probably cancel the internet and throw all my toys away, or maybe kick me out, not sure. Sex and such are taboos in this house and family, we don't talk about them and we don't do them in the houses of our parents. (At least not supposed to, it's rude he says.)

And his remark when I say I want privacy is "It's my house and I have a right to know what goes on under my roof." Sucks, but i guess it's true....

And I know you'll suggest moving out, but it's not an option on my meager wage and that fact I cannot drive and no one wants to teach me to drive either. Plus i pretty much care for dad, he's going to end up crippling himself sooner or later--he needs knee surgery and can't afford anything, so he's going to let it worsen, basically.

Such is life.

(This is why I don't have blogs for real life either, it's the same story, just a different day.)

I understand not being able to move out I'm 22 and live here. It's not as bad as your place but it's not that great either. my boyfriend can come over after 11pm. I had porn dvds taken away from me because my sister digs through my stuff and takes it. I was told its not allowed in the house and no sex in the house but I do anyway. my mom knows I have a couple items but doesn't really say anything but none of them know I'm on eden website. I just throw my toys into a drawer. How do you keep everything from your dad? I don't think anyone here goes through my stuff except my sister because she likes to steal our stuff without asking no matter how many talks or upset my mom and I get she has never stopped. She is very selfish doesn't care about anyone and she lives here and doesn't even speak to me or my mom and if we say anything to her she swears and yells at us.

where do u work?

Motel 6 housekeeping. It's barely over min wage even after almost 4 years.

And I'm an only child. I just keep my stuff in tool boxes in my room. He thinks I have arts and crafts things in there since I have so many paints and clays that about half my closet is full of art supplies.

I reccomend working at mcdonalds they give raises after so many hours every time..where I live they have been starting people over minium wage..I been there for years I make nearly $10 an hour but I don't work many hours either thats why some people been there less than me that work more hours and work harder than me make more.

Do yo mind sharing wat toys you own? You seem like you need the most out of your money and probly things that come in good storage containers like evolved. how do you get around not being able to lock your door? your vibes mus be quiet ones too..dang does he need to know when you have a bowel movemnt or when you need tampons too? no offense.

I never toy when someone is home, even if dad is sleeping. He has a bad habit of waking up at unexpected times and anything out of the ordinary he checks on. I only toy on days off and only at the times he's not on break or lunch as he likes to call unexpectedly, too.

And McDonalds is too far to walk to, plus i have issues with restaurant work due to anxiety and panic attacks.

And I own toys from these sites:

link
link
link
link

As well as toys from here and other generic retailers and such. Needless to say my toys would freak out real vanilla people and my family would think I'd need to see a shrink again.

And I don't lock my door, just keep it closed. He has the TV on too loud for my tastes in the den, so I close it to hear my games and TV easier. I don't lock it because I never really do anything worth locking it for when he's home. He knocks before coming in most of the time, but never waits for an answer and just opens the door. He's also a yeller, you come to him when he yells for you, now, not 5 minutes later, not 2, not 1, but right when he calls for you.

I'm trying to get to where he works, it has a union and all and it's warehouse work, the downside to that however is I will be working and home at the same time as him, so I will essentially have to give up toying and masturbation for who knows how long and take up celibacy for a while. Sucks, but what can you do? Coul really use the better wage. (12 an hour.)

I have kept an ink and paper journal for over 30 years now. I have 2 thick black leather bound books that I got at the beginning and have one filled and started on the second one. I don't write everyday. I write about the events in my life, poetry, random thoughts, ideas. It seems I am the historian for our family, so when someone in our family asks when something happened or what happened, I usually can pull out one of the journals and can find it...it is very rewarding and helps keep my mind sharp and focused. I also keep an online sex blog (which is public) and an online food/diet/weight loss journal (which is private). As for ink...don't use gel pen ink if you want it to survive for years...it will bleed through eventually.
