This is the single most interesting poll question I have ever seen on EF.

It was Capitalism and free enterprise which was the 'seeds' in establishing the growth of the USA and our standard of living we enjoy today. This is evident by the sacrifices by our so-called 'Greatest Generation' parents to go to was and defeat Hitler, etal. Don't knock such a system; unless you think 'socialism' is a better form of enterprise!

You are quite right about the 'liberal' media; call it as it is [liberal]. They do try and influence the naive public. That is why you have to read and research all your sources to find out and discover the real truth! The second group you speak of is also 'liberal' or 'progressive' thinkers who try to influence the young minds to their 'liberal' agenda! Thanks for sharing!

actually im currently way more for socialism, so yes. capitalism is/was a great great thing for us as a developing country however, capitalism also hurts our system and its people in different ways. Anyways, the most people in power are the white, right winged, upper-upper class, patriarch - there is absolutely no denying that.
Spiced brings up something thats kind of disturbing and it is that people somehow think minorities (people of color, LGBQT and women) are some how in as much power as Military/Industrial Complex. While these groups are growing in power, yes, there is in no way they hold that much power within the system.

I agree that governments (local, state AND federal) have too much power. From the poll results, it seems most people agree. The other most popular answers are corporations, media and rich people.

These are really quite connected: the government is mostly controlled by corporations, which are almost entirely controlled by rich people. In essence, we've gone from a government "of the people, by the people, for the people" to government "of the rich, by the rich, for the rich". You could say almost exactly the same thing about the major media.
