Toilet paper--seems to be a precious commodity in my house with our new puppy, lol!! I also cannot stand being out of milk, coffee or other small items that can make a meal stretch out.
When do you HAVE to go to the grocery?

How about you? When is it time for you to go to the store or what item do you always have to have in the house? less

That and cat food.
Though I typically go to a pet specialty store for their food. But once I'm out buying cat food, I'm like "well, what the hell... might as well go get the groceries."

When we run out of everything, lol.

If I'm out of coffee creamer, I know I have to go to the store

anybody who knows me would know i would say COFFEE!
10/24/2012
Whenever I need something, nothing specific.
10/24/2012
Frozen foods. Once they're gone I need to get some more!
10/24/2012
Milk is a must. It I'll also go if I realize I don't have enough stuff to cook dinner with. But that's why I keep my freezer well stocked.
10/25/2012
I go on a weekly basis.
10/25/2012
soda & pasta
10/25/2012
I go twice a month, with small runs in between. I normally don't do a big shop until my food supply is almost entirely depleted.
10/25/2012
People in my house go MAD once the milk is gone.

Generally, unless the milk, bread, or coffee is gone we just make do with whatever food is left until we're down to just a little bit of pasta or something.
Unless there's a big snow storm coming...then they go stock up on canned goods and things that don't need to be heated to be eaten.
It usually amounts to two "big" trips a month and a once a week mini trip to pick up a few things.

Ice cream!

For us it's toilet paper, cat food, cat litter, olive oil to cook with

Lol, I just realized I forgot to check cereal. I have two kids, so grocery shopping has to be once a week. Yes, that much and sometimes more than one time a week LOL. My 4 year old son can go through a jug of milk in 2 or 3 days max. We are also big egg eaters just because they are cheap and easy, and nutritious too .
So the staples are definitely: Milk, eggs, bread, cereal and things like salt and sugar, paper products, and COFFEE! The adults of the house are quite addicted to it...

When we're low on fruits and veggies, it's time to shop. The majority of our diets are fresh fruits and veggies, we can't live without!
11/03/2012
whatever I really feel like ans I'm out of. Generally fresh veggies though, so that I can cook.
