As we begin the summer season, I realized that there are other ways to get a tan. Understanding the pros and cons to direct sun light, is there another method which you find more convenient? Which style do you find the most effective? So what is your favorite tanning style?

I prefer to not tan... sunblock all the way
06/17/2012
I'm vampire pale and proud. I apply tons of sunscreen daily. I have a bit of a tan right now from one day I went without and went outside (unplanned) for eight hours. I wish it would go away. Spray tans and makeup look orange against my pink undertone skin, so I skip those. I'd prefer just to look naturally pale.

This weekend I went on a fishing retreat... Technically I sun bathed with a fishing pole in my hand. I burn, I ache, I hate the sun.
06/17/2012
I use sunscreen and avoid getting a tan!
06/17/2012
I moon-bathe at night.

If I know that I'm going to be in the sun for awhile , I use a 15 spf sunscreen, but if I have a tropical vacation planned in the middle of the winter, I go to a tanning saloon for about a month before I go.
06/17/2012
I don't tan, and I am sure to wear sunscreen if I am outside. If I wanted to look tan for a special event, I would go to a salon and get a spray tan from a professional.
06/17/2012
I don't actively tan for the sake of having a tan but if I ever do it's just from being in the sun.
06/17/2012
I don't tan. I wear sun screen outside.
06/17/2012
What sun I get, I get from my normal outdoor activities like golf, hiking, biking, swimming, etc.

I have to agree with 'Gunsmoke'! I sometimes forget to put on the sun screen until it is too late!

sun screen! always!

Depends. I have psoriasis so if mine gets bad, I go to a tanning bed with the purpose of getting a burn (I rarely go.. mainly in the winter), so my skin clears up (works awesome for me!).
I'm really tanned now, since my kids have been outside non stop since its been nice

If we do get sun, we'd rather get the real deal...but not without sunscreen first!
06/17/2012
I don't go intentionally to get a tan, but I'm outside often with my kids and have a natural tan from swimming, playing outside etc.
06/17/2012
I use some of the rub on tans and tons of sunscreen. After a close call with skin cancer, left the tanning to others! I do get some when we are on the motorcycle through the sunscreen but I don't usually burn!

i prefer to lay in the sun

I enjoy the look of pale skin- I don't tan.

If I want a hint of color, I will use a tinted moisturizer, but no natural sun for me...always SPF 50

I don't tan. I like being pale. Any tanning that occurs is due to me forgetting to apply sunscreen to certain areas. When that occurs, I have to put up with painful sunburn for a week.

I'm with Kira! I look better pale and since I'm Irish/German, it is very difficult for me to tan! I used to try the booths but came out more along the reddish tint than the brownish tint lol. I gave up and decided looking like a way cool vampire was just my thing

I hate tanning. I only apply a bit of bronzer to sculpt my cheekbones and what not.
06/17/2012
I don't try to tan, and I always wear sunblock if I'm going to be outside for awhile. I also don't use spray to try to look like I have a tan--aside from anything else, I just would like to think that my natural skin color can be as attractive as tanner skin.
06/17/2012
Other: None! I'm pasty pale and couldn't tan if I tried. I'd just burn and peel.
06/17/2012
I don't tan.

sunscreen
06/17/2012
I tan in a tanning bed.
06/17/2012
I'm not much of a sun bather but I will occasionally on vacation.
06/18/2012
I don't. I just burn, so I'd rather stay in shade.
