I disagree with you respectfully. I am a Christian and I'm new to it all but learning the hard way how all this plays into living your life the way CHRIST would want you to.(What the owner of Chik fila Dan Cathy and I intend to do)heard of the Chik fila and equality rights issues as I left high school before I was a Christian was it cruel to see MY FRIENDS being denied service? Or fired because they were Gay yes, it hurt me to see them hurting. And as I grow as a young Christian I am learning the hard way and struggling between loving everyone as I would myself, ( 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’) - loving every fiber of their being even if they were gay, or transgender. Because aside from beginning my new life as a Christian I was RAISED never to discriminate anyone and to care and love everyone even if they didn't love me. I never thought making a simple poll about Chik fila condiments would turn out like this. And I am truly torn, I cry about these things wholeheartedly miserable because I love everyone and respect everyone, but I love God more? And I put a question mark purposely because as I get closer to him I understand, with no words or actions I understand that it's not that he hates gays etc its that he loves us all THAT much. I love God now more than myself, which is a good thing. I know people will hate me after reading this or not understand how I could be straddled in the middle, because like I said I love everyone, but after writing this all it made me realize I love God more. His love will suffice the amount of hate and negativity (although not intended) this will bring. There is nothing wrong with following in the footsteps of your Lord, because keep in mind people hated his guts too, people looked at him differently for what he believed and he stuck by them, and with his strength so will I. God Bless everyone on this post, whether your religious or not, hate me and want me dead I still love you all

That's all I have to say, I really don't meant to offend anyone and with every ounce of courage in me that needed to be said.

See, this is we're the thin line is drawn I don't agree with homophobic hate, I can be a Christian and still love, I have so many friend that are gay or even transgender and our friendships will never end ever. I agree with God, but you know how people twist things and the bible to their comforts. That's terrible, something I couldn't do, but I understand Dan's stand for being a good Christian but no where does it say God hates, or that we should hate.

I support the right of Chick-Fil-A and its owners to donate their time, money, and efforts to any organization they wish. However, I also have the right not to contribute my money to their efforts when I know they are in direct opposition to my own beliefs. To be clear, I am not boycotting Chick-Fil-A because they are a Christian company. I don't go there because they have, as a company (not just the individual owner), provided donations to organizations trying to block something I see as a basic human right from being legalized. Regardless of their attitude about it, that is ultimately a "homophobic and hateful" act.
As for whether they've never discriminated when hiring, Chick-Fil-A has not to the best of my knowledge adopted a non-discrimination policy beyond what they are required to under the law. It's easy to tell just by standing in the food court of my local mall and looking at the employees at the different establishments that Chick-Fil-A clearly discriminates based on age, race, and weight in at least one location. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to find out that they discriminate (however unofficially) based on other factors as well.
And yes, there are people who have attacked Dan Cathy's beliefs. I can't say that saddens me considering he has attacked mine. less

What I got from your post is that you are a fairly new Christian, and you love your God and want to do what you think is right. You also love your gay and transgendered friends. I don't see any conflict there.
Some people interpret certain parts of the Bible to mean that according to the Christian God, homosexuality is a sin. However, most of the verses used as arguments for that perception are taken out of context; for example, one passage says that a man shall not lie with a man as he would with a woman, but it's clear from the context of the rest of the chapter that this actually means that the soldiers shouldn't rape other men.
In addition to this, belief in homosexuality as a sin solely because the Bible says so (if it actually does) would mean that there are a number of other things you need to believe in as well, because the Bible says so. This includes not eating shellfish (it's an abomination) and stoning an adulterer to death, just off the top of my head.
So, my point is that there need not be any conflict for you between your belief in Christianity and your belief that your homosexual and transgendered friends are as deserving of love and human rights as anyone else.

Thank you for your comment, I'm glad everyone's staying positive. The few times I've mentioned this to my Christian friends or my gay friends it made them both mad that I didn't pick and hate the other. Shellfish like unclean meat ? I think... Well I'm allergic to shellfish and it sucks, because my whole life I wasn't until 2years ago goodbye half of my favorite foods
