I just can't sleep if it's too hot in the house. That or I'll be up watching porn haha

I have insomnia so unless I take my pills I won't sleep. Stress can make it worse, usually household things. If my son wakes up during the night then that messes up my sleep. Luckily I have good sleep meds that knock me out so that I get a decent night's sleep more nights than not.

I'm so used to living with stress that it doesn't even enter the equation anymore. I either have insomnia, or I'm too mentally stimulated to want to go to sleep (usually from either exciting plans or a story idea that is plaguing my brain).

sometimes stressing, usually being social, other times it's from excitement, I'm just a giant kid

Work stress more than anything else.

Sleep apnea here, which along with nearly constant back pains, does not make for a good nights sleep.

My pancreas pain gets really bad sometimes and tends to keep me awake all night, hence, the reason why I check EF around night time thanks to this stupid medical condition.

Funny I came by this post I am usually in bed by now. I can't sleep tonight I hate it and I don't feel like taking my sleeping pills because I don't want to be drowsy in the morning and I have to go out. Going to try some soft music see if that helps.

It's usually because I'm on the computer. :p

I happened to be a pretty good sleeper, but when those times do come where I have trouble sleeping, oh they're awful! It depends though. If we're talking my non-sleeping weekends, it's because of the kids. Today, lack of sleep due to the 2 year old waking up soooo early. Every so often I'll have trouble sleeping when I know I have a lot of things to do and am very stressed about it.

My worst problem with sleeping though happens every couple of months. It's around the time I am due for a new injection, which prevents some endometrial pain and the growth. I can't be sure if it has something to do with that, but over the past several years, it seems around the time I'm due back for the medication, I'll have 2 full weeks of 4 hour sleep. I'll sleep for exactly 4 hours a night/day and impossible to go back. It's misery!

Sometimes, if I've taken my pain meds that make me drowsy, if I lay down with something to drink, eat and a book, I'll quickly pass out. Maybe try that? The reason I say I lay down with something to eat and drink is because the pain meds give me the munchies like crazy and dry my mouth out. Something about them stopping glands from producing... I don't know, but my pharmicist says never take them unless you're around water and that it was something to do with them cutting off gland production or something. All I know is they make me hungry and thirsty as hell! Lol.

You can also try lavendar essential oil or something with real lavendar extract--lotion, bath products, sprays, etc. Use the bath or lotion products on your body to relax and then lay down. It works well for me when I need an extra boost getting there.
Sometimes I can focus on taking breaths that cause my abdomen to inflate and deflate, like a child. Most adults take breaths in the chest area--if your chest rises and falls rather than your belly. Try focusing on slow, deep breaths in your belly. That's worked to put me right to sleep on a couple of occasions.
Another good trick that works sometimes is starting with my toes and focusing all my attention on each one. Then move up to the foot, then the ankle, then the calf, then the knee and so on. While thinking of each body part breathe slowly and tell yourself it's getting tired, warm and heavy. EXAMPLE: "My foot is warm, it's relaxed and getting heavy." I just made my feet totally relax while typing that! Lol. Anyways, you get my drift, I hope.
Do that until you feel the body part fully relax--it'll feel really heavy and comfy once it's relaxed. Keep doing it until you reach the very last body part or until you're passed out. If you're still awake once you make it to the last body part, well, maybe get a book out! Lol. I never usually make it past my arms.

Last night I had a migraine that wouldn't allow me to sleep, but for the most part it's usually insomnia.

The only reason I loose sleep is work issues. Thankfully the rest of my life is quite nice.

I can fall asleep very quickly as long as I avoid drinking strong Chinese tea late at night.

I checked an awful lot of boxes... Can you tell I don't usually sleep much?

my hubby being a truck driver and being gone on the road all the time. Not knowing if he is going to get hurt or if I'm going to get that call saying he was in an accident.

Generally speaking? as soon as I think, sleep... I am out like a light for the night. BUT three weeks each year end of January beginning of February I wake at 3:33am and just cannot get back sleep.
Of late, I've woken just as I am about to fall out of bed, and I've a queen sized bed usually I am in it alone.
Spring and Summer time, most people think I suffer from insomnia as I wake up at like 4amish simply because the sun begins to shine and that means it is time to get my bottom out of bed!
